Syncing reviews with Shop App

At Judge.me, we've made it simple to share your reviews and star ratings between our platform and the Shopify's Shop App (also known as Shop Pay).

This integration helps you boost conversions and revenue by showcasing valuable social proof on this mobile-first channel. Plus, you won't have to start from scratch; your existing reviews and ratings can be leveraged on Shop.

Sync reviews from Judge.me to Shop App

Judge.me Reviews and Star Ratings in the Shop App

Reviews published on Judge.me that align with Shop’s review policies (especially reviews associated with specific customer orders) will be automatically added to your product listing on Shop, on an ongoing basis.

  • Raw review content is transmitted to Shopify as metaobjects without any censorship for personal identifiable information (PII) or profanity.

  • Shop will moderate these reviews based on their product review policy before publishing them in the Shop App.

  • If you decide to uninstall Judge.me, please contact Shopify customer support in case you want to make any adjustments to your existing Judge.me reviews in Shop App.

To stop syncing Judge.me reviews to Shop App:

  • From your Shop App admin in Shopify, go to Settings.

  • Scroll down to Shop reviews.

  • Under Reviews from Partner apps, disable “Display reviews collected with partner apps in Shop".

Troubleshoot


Only some of my Judge.me reviews are showing in Shop App

Issue:

You're seeing only a few of your Judge.me product reviews displayed in Shop App.

Why it happens:

While we send all reviews to Shop App, Shop decides which ones to publish based on their own Shopify Product Review Policy.

How to fix:

While there's no guaranteed way to know which reviews will show in Shop App, common review types that are usually not published:

  • imported reviews (even if verified)

  • web reviews that are not linked to an order


Sync reviews from Shop App to Judge.me

The Judge.me x Shop App integration is enabled by default, and your Shop App reviews should be automatically synced to Judge.me.

Manage Shop App reviews in Judge.me

Shop app reviews will be published and verified automatically on Judge.me. You can display these reviews on your widgets, including pinning them or featuring them in a carousel.

You can't unpublish, move, or edit reviews synced from Shop App, but you can disable the syndication, which will remove all Shop App reviews in Judge.me (The syndication of Judge.me reviews to Shop will still occur automatically).

To stop syncing Shop App reviews to Judge.me:

  • From your Judge.me admin, go to Manage Reviews > Reviews Dashboard.

  • Click the Import & sync reviews button on the top right.

  • Scroll down to the Sync Reviews section.

  • Next to Shop app, click the Show settings dropdown.

  • Select "Disable" (default to "Syndicate reviews collected via the Shop app to Judge.me (Recommended)").

  • Click Save.

To reply to reviews collected via Shop App:

  • From your Judge.me admin, go to Manage Reviews > Reviews Dashboard.

  • Click the reply icon, which will redirect to the Shop channel to send the reply.

Customers can edit or delete reviews they left via the Shop App. For more details, you can refer to Shopify’s official help article here.

"Verified by Shop" badge:

Reviews collected via the Shop app will have the "Verified by Shop" badge when they appear on the Judge.me widget. This badge is currently available in English. If you require support for other languages, please let us know.

Considerations

  • We don't send admin notifications for Shop App reviews as they are submitted via the Shop mobile app and are managed separately from product and store reviews submitted on your website.
