With the Review Widget, customers can leave reviews directly on your product pages using the Judge.me in-store review form.
How web reviews are collected
Once you've installed the Review Widget on your product page, here's how the web review collection flow works:
Customer submits a review
The customer visits a product page on your store.
They click the Write a review button from the Review Widget.
A pop-up review form opens with fields for content and optional media.
After the review is submitted, it will be immediately published or hidden based on your moderation settings.
We validate the review:
If we detect a possible order match (the email in the review and the order must be an exact match), a confirmation email is sent to the customer to validate the review.
Once the customer confirms their review and we can successfully link it to an order, the review will be marked as verified.
If you want to avoid receiving web reviews (to reduce spam, fake reviews, or competitor attacks), you can enable web reviews restriction.
Web review confirmation email
When confirmation emails are sent
We send a review confirmation email to customers who submit a web review, if we detect a possible order match. This can happen when:
The reviewer used an email address that matches a previous order (from your store or any store using Judge.me).
The reviewer is logged into their Judge.me user profile.
The reviewer has previously verified reviews as a buyer on any store using Judge.me.
What happens when the customer confirms
The confirmation email includes a unique link for the customer to validate their review.
When the customer clicks this link:
It confirms that they were the one who submitted the review.
They are directed to their Reviewer Profile, where they can view all reviews they've submitted.
If we can successfully match their review to an order on your store, we will mark the review as verified.
If the customer doesn’t click the confirmation link, their review will not be marked as verified.
Disable confirmation emails
Available on the Free plan
You can turn off the confirmation email if you don’t want web reviewers to receive a verification prompt.
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Email templates.
Scroll down to the Post-review notifications section.
Click Edit next to Review confirmation.
By default, "Send web visitor a confirmation email when they leave a review" is selected. To disable web review confirmation, select "Disabled".
Click Save.
If the web review confirmation email is disabled, web reviews cannot be verified — they will remain unverified even if the reviewer is a real customer.
