If you sell the same products on Etsy and Shopify, the reviews you've earned on Etsy don't have to stay there. Connect your Etsy shop to Judge.me to automatically pull those reviews into Shopify and keep them syncing as new ones come in.
How it works
Here’s how syncing reviews from your Etsy store works:
You connect your Etsy store. You connect your Etsy store and initiate the sync.
You choose how to match products. You can choose to match your active Etsy listings and Shopify products in 2 ways:
Automatically: Match your active Etsy listings to Shopify products by SKU. Reviews sync as product reviews.
Manually: For each Etsy listing, choose whether to match it to a Shopify product (reviews sync as product reviews), sync its reviews as store reviews, or skip it.
We match products, then sync reviews.
First, we fetch your active Etsy listings and match them to your Shopify products using your chosen matching method (automatically by SKU, or manually).
Then we sync reviews from matched Etsy listings. Reviews with written content from active Etsy listings are synced into Judge.me as verified reviews.
New Etsy reviews are pulled in automatically every 7 days. You can also trigger a manual sync once every 24 hours.
You display the reviews. Use any Judge.me widget to show your synced Etsy reviews on your Shopify storefront.
What we sync from Etsy
All reviews with written content from your active Etsy listings can be synced to Judge.me. For reviews that are synced from Etsy:
We sync the following attributes from each review:
Star rating
Review text
Review images (if any)
Reviewer name
The date the review was posted on Etsy
Etsy shop replies to reviews aren't synced.
All synced reviews are marked as verified in Judge.me.
The following reviews are not synced from Etsy:
Reviews from inactive, sold-out, draft, or expired Etsy listings
Rating-only reviews
How it works with other features
1. Google Shopping
Google requires that product reviews originate from the store they're submitted under. As a result, reviews synced from Etsy are not included in the product ratings feed for Google Shopping — even though they are marked as verified.
2. Meta, TikTok Shop, and Shop app
Product reviews synced from Etsy are included in your syndications to:
3. Review management
You can moderate Etsy-synced reviews in Judge.me like any other review — publish, hide, archive, feature, or pin them. They also follow your autopublish settings.
You can also reply publicly to these reviews, but the reply stays in Judge.me and isn't sent back to Etsy.
However, you can't edit, move, delete, send private replies, or request a review update for reviews synced from Etsy.
Considerations
This integration only syncs reviews from Etsy to Judge.me, not the other way around.
Once a review is synced to Judge.me, later changes to the original review on Etsy don't propagate. If a buyer edits or delete their review on Etsy, the synced version in Judge.me stays as it was.
Once a review is synced, it stays attached to the Shopify product it was originally matched to. Updating SKUs, replacing Shopify products, or otherwise changing product matching afterward only affects future syncs — we won't re-match already-synced reviews, and we won't re-sync them to the newly matched products.
Set up Etsy review syndication
This section is for first-time Etsy setup.
If you're connecting Etsy for the first time, follow the steps below.
If you've already connected Etsy and want to enable reviewer name syncing, see Reauthorize to sync reviewer names instead.
Step 1: Connect your Etsy store
To connect your Etsy store:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Etsy.
Click Get started.
Log in to your Etsy account, then click Grant access to connect your Etsy store to Judge.me.
Step 2: Start the sync
Once you've connected your Etsy store, to start the sync:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Etsy.
Click Sync reviews.
In the next Product matching pop-up, select one of the following options (See Match Etsy listings to Shopify products to learn how each method works):
Automatically match products by SKUs codes
Match products manually
The Skip duplicated reviews when running the import (Recommended) option is checked by default. Leave it on to clean up duplicate reviews during your initial sync — especially useful if you've previously imported Etsy reviews through other methods, like CSV or JSON file imports.
Click Sync reviews.
Step 3: Check your sync result
After triggering the sync, the sync runs in the background — reviews may not appear in Judge.me immediately. You can check the result in 3 places:
Sync status
To see the status of your sync:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Etsy.
In the Etsy syndication section, you'll see one of the following statuses:
If the connection fails: "Connection failed, please try again or contact customer support".
If your sync is in progress: "Sync in progress. You’ll receive an email notification when it’s finished".
If your sync completes:
Your Etsy store name
The last sync date (e.g. "Last synced on 1 Dec 2025")
Number of synced reviews and matched products in the last sync (e.g. "23 reviews added across 8 products").
An Export import log link to send the sync result to your Admin notification emails.
Sync result email
We'll send a detailed sync result to your Admin notification emails after each sync completes.
The email is sent from support@judge.me, with the subject "n Etsy reviews successfully synced to Judge.me".
In this email, you'll find:
Number of synced reviews in the last sync
Number of matched products in the last sync
Number of unmatched products and their SKUs, URL, and title in Etsy
Reviews import log
Your last 10 imports and syncs across all sources are shown in your Reviews import log. Look for entries with Etsy-api in the Import source column to find your Etsy syncs.
Match Etsy listings to Shopify products
Once you've connected your Etsy store, you can match your Etsy listings to your Shopify products in two ways:
Automatically by SKUs: Best when you use SKUs and your Etsy SKUs match your Shopify SKUs. We'll map every listing for you, no manual work needed.
Manually: Best when you don't use SKUs, when your Etsy and Shopify SKUs don't match, or when you want different rules per listing
You can change your match method at any time.
Automatic product matching
With the automatic product matching method, we use SKUs to automatically map your Etsy listings to your Shopify products.
After you've selected Automatically match products by SKUs codes and click Sync reviews, here's how SKU matching works:
We'll first fetch your Etsy listings. Each listing comes with one or more SKUs (one per variant, if the listing has variants).
We look for matching SKUs in Shopify. For each of those SKUs, we search your Shopify store for a variant with the exact same SKU.
We link the listings to their first match.
Etsy sends us listing-level data, not variant-level — we know which Etsy listing a review belongs to, but not which specific variant. So we match at the listing level: as long as one Etsy variant SKU matches a Shopify variant SKU, the whole Etsy listing is matched.
If the same SKU exists on more than one Shopify variant — whether in different products or in different variants of the same product — we'll still match the Etsy listing, but to whichever variant we find first.
If no Etsy variant SKU matches any Shopify variant SKU, the listing stays unmatched.
We match new and updated listings.
On each sync, we re-run the matching steps above for new Etsy listings plus any existing listings updated on Etsy since the last sync.
We detect updates from Etsy's last updated time, so changes you make in Shopify won't pull an Etsy listing back in.
Manual product matching
With the manual product matching method, you'll manually choose how each Etsy listing maps to your Shopify products before reviews are synced.
After you've selected Match products manually and click Sync reviews, here's how manual matching works:
We fetch your Etsy listings. We'll first fetch your Etsy listings to prepare for manual matching. While the fetch is in progress, you'll see this status: "We're fetching products from Etsy to prepare for manual product matching. You'll receive an email when it's complete."
We email you when listings are ready to map. Once the fetch is complete, we'll send you an email letting you know your listings are ready to map. The status is updated to: "We've detected new products. To sync their reviews, first click 'Match products' to match products between Etsy and Shopify, then click 'Import'."
You match each fetched Etsy listing to Shopify. See Match new Etsy listings and Update existing product matching for details.
You match new Etsy listing to Shopify. New Etsy listings will need to be manually mapped before their reviews can sync
Match new Etsy listings
To manually match your Etsy listings to your Shopify products:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Etsy.
In the Etsy syndication section, click Match new products.
On the Etsy product matching page, set how each Etsy listing should be handled. For each listing, select one of the following options from the Sync reviews as dropdown:
Ignore product (default): Reviews from this listing aren't synced.
Product review: Reviews from this listing are synced as product reviews. Search for and select the Shopify product to map them to.
Store review: Reviews from this listing are synced as store reviews, with no specific product association.
Click Save.
Back in the Etsy syndication section, click Sync reviews now to sync reviews for the matched products.
Update existing product matching
To change how individual Etsy listings map to your Shopify products:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Etsy.
In the Etsy syndication section, open the Settings dropdown.
Select Update existing product matching.
On the Etsy product matching page, find the listing you want to update and change its Sync reviews as option or its mapped Shopify product.
Click Save.
Return to the Etsy syndication section and click Sync reviews now to apply the new mapping to future syncs.
Updating an existing product mapping changes how future reviews from that Etsy listing are routed — to a different Shopify product, to store reviews, or to skip. Reviews you've already synced stay attached to their original placement; the change only affects future syncs.
Change your product matching method
You can switch between automatic and manual matching at any time.
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Etsy.
In the Etsy syndication section, open the Settings dropdown.
Select Change product matching method.
In the Change product matching method? confirmation pop-up, click Discard and continue.
What happens when you switch your product matching method:
Manual to automatic: Your existing manual mappings are removed. Future syncs use SKU matching to map your Etsy listings to Shopify products.
Automatic to manual: We'll fetch your Etsy listings and pre-fill mappings using SKU matches where possible. You'll need to confirm each pending mapping before reviews are synced.
In both cases, reviews you've already synced stay attached to their currently matched product — the change only affects future syncs.
Manage your Etsy review syndication
1. View synced reviews
To view the reviews synced from Etsy:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Reviews.
Click the Search and filter icon (🔍︎☰) on the right.
Click Add filter + on the left and select Source.
Click the checkbox next to Etsy.
2. Set your sync schedule
By default, we automatically sync new Etsy reviews every 7 days.
To stop scheduled syncs:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Etsy.
In the Etsy syndication section, uncheck the checkbox next to Automatically import reviews every 7 days.
Click Save.
With it disabled, new reviews are only synced when you trigger a sync manually.
You can trigger a sync at any time by clicking Sync reviews now in the same section. This works whether automatic syncing is on or off, and can be used once every 24 hours.
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Etsy.
In the Etsy syndication section, click Sync reviews now.
3. Disable the Etsy review syndication
To disable the Etsy review syndication:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Etsy.
In the Etsy syndication section, click Disconnect.
In the next pop-up, click Disconnect again to confirm.
When you disable the Etsy review syndication:
All previously synced reviews will remain in your Judge.me account.
If you reconnect to the same Etsy store, we'll only sync new reviews collected since your last connection.
If you connect a different Etsy store, we’ll start syncing new reviews from the newly connected store going forward.
Display reviews synced from Etsy
Etsy-synced reviews appear in your Judge.me widgets alongside reviews collected through Judge.me — no extra setup needed for most widgets.
Where they appear depends on how they were synced:
Reviews synced as product reviews appear in product-specific widgets like the Review Widget and Star Rating Badge.
Reviews synced as store reviews appear in store-level widgets like the Happy Customers widget.
Featured-review widgets like the Cards Carousel, Testimonials Carousel, and Pop-up Reviews show only reviews you've manually selected. Add Etsy-synced reviews to a featured widget to highlight them on your storefront.
See Judge.me widgets for the full list of widgets and how to set them up.
Reauthorize to sync reviewer names
This section is for stores that connected Etsy before reviewer name syncing was added.
If you see the Upgrade your Etsy syndication banner in your Etsy syndication settings, follow the steps below to reauthorize your connection.
If you're setting up Etsy syndication for the first time, see Sync reviews from Etsy instead.
Why you should reauthorize
Previously, Etsy reviews synced into Judge.me showed the reviewer as "Etsy customer."
We've now updated the integration to sync the actual reviewer name shown on Etsy. Reauthorizing is optional, but recommended.
Things to know before reauthorizing
Reauthorization only updates this permission. Your product matching, sync schedule, and other Etsy settings stay the same.
Only new reviews are affected. Reviews synced before reauthorization keep their "Etsy customer" labels — reviewer name syncing only applies to new reviews going forward.
Reauthorize your Etsy connection
Step 1: Disconnect the current connection
To disconnect your current Etsy connection:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Etsy.
In the Upgrade your Etsy syndication banner, click Upgrade. This will disconnect your old Etsy connection and redirect you to your Etsy app management page.
In your Etsy app management page, find Judge.me Ltd and click Disconnect.
In the confirmation pop-up, click Disconnect to confirm.
Step 2: Authorize the new connection:
To authorize the new Etsy connection:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Etsy.
Click Get started.
On the Etsy permissions page, click Grant access.
Back to your Judge.me admin, click Sync reviews.
Troubleshoot
Etsy API review import is stuck in "Import in progress"
Etsy API review import is stuck in "Import in progress"
If your Etsy sync (or Etsy API import) is stuck in the Import in progress. This might take a few minutes status, you can ignore the error and trigger a manual sync instead.
To trigger a manual sync:
