Collecting reviews via in-store web form and emails

Collect reviews using the in-store pop-up form or review request emails

Updated over a month ago

Judge.me helps you gather more high-quality product reviews through two collection flows:

  • An in-store review form embedded on your product pages

  • A Judge.me-hosted form linked from review request emails

Both forms can be customized from a single settings page, making it easy to maintain consistent branding across all customer touchpoints.

Collect reviews via the in-store web form

Customers can leave reviews directly on your product pages using the Judge.me in-store review form, which appears when they click the review button on a product page.

Web review collection flow

  1. The customer visits a product page on your store.

  2. They click Write a Review on the Review Widget.

  3. A pop-up review form opens with fields for content and optional media.

  4. After submitting the form, the review is saved based on your moderation settings.

  5. A confirmation email is sent to validate the review.

Note: Review text is optional if you enable the quick star ratings, which allows customers to leave a star rating only.

Customize review confirmation email

Web reviews are not automatically marked as verified, even if submitted by a verified buyer. However, we send a review confirmation email in the following cases:

  • The reviewer has placed orders in any stores using Judge.me.

  • The reviewer is logged into their Judge.me user profile.

  • The reviewer has verified reviews as a buyer in any store.

To allow your reviewers to confirm their web reviews and have them verified, we recommend keeping the review confirmation email enabled in your settings. If this email is disabled, your reviewers wonโ€™t be able to confirm their reviews โ€” and those reviews will remain unverified.

Restrict web reviews

Restricting web reviews helps prevent spam or competitor attacks by limiting submissions to verified buyers who received a review confirmation email.

Collect reviews via the review request email

Judge.me automatically sends review request emails after fulfillment based on the timing you set, linking to Judge.me-hosted review form.

Review request email flow

  1. Judge.me sends the email after fulfillment or delivery.

  2. The customer clicks the Write a Review button.

  3. They're taken to a Judge.me-hosted form for the product they purchased.

  4. They submit their review, with optional media.

  5. The review is automatically marked as verified.

Note:

Customize review request emails

You can customize your review request emails using Judge.meโ€™s premade templates and drag-and-drop editor. Create different templates for initial review requests and follow-up reminders, and send emails in multiple languages to match your customersโ€™ preferences.

Set up automatic reminders

These follow-up emails boost your review collection rate by gently nudging customers who didnโ€™t respond to the first request.

Send media reminder emails

Media reminders encourage customers to return and enhance their review by uploading a photo or video, helping you collect richer, more persuasive content.

Customize the write-a-review form

The same customization settings apply to both the in-store pop-up form and the Judge.me-hosted review page linked from emails.

You can customize:

  • Text labels and placeholder fields

  • Whether to show or hide the review title

  • Whether to allow photo/video uploads

  • Custom questions (e.g., โ€œHow did this product fit?โ€)

  • Coupon incentives to reward completed reviews

  • Link the review request emails to:

    • The Judge.me-hosted form (recommended)

    • The in-store pop-up form
