The Media Reminder Email helps you collect more photo and video reviews by prompting customers to submit media if they haven’t done so initially. This increases shopper engagement and provides valuable social proof right where it matters most.

In this article, you’ll learn how it works, how to enable it, and how to customize it to match your brand.

How it works

When a customer submits a text-only review (without a photo or video), Judge.me automatically sends a media reminder email prompting them to update their review with media.

You can customize:

  • When the reminder is sent (e.g., after 3 days)

  • Who receives it (based on star rating or blacklist)

  • What the email says (template)

Reviewers who click the email will be redirected to a dedicated media submission page, where they can easily upload their photos or videos without needing to resubmit their review.

Here’s an example of the submission page:

How to enable the Media Reminder Email

1. Activate the email

Follow these steps to turn on the feature and control when reminders are sent:

  • From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Email templates.

  • Under Post-review notifications, click Edit next to Media reminder.

  • Enable the option: Send a reminder if customers leave a review without a picture or video.

  • In the Send reminder after field, choose how many days after the initial review you want to send the reminder (e.g., 3 days after).

  • In the Minimum stars rating for reminders dropdown, choose when reminders should be triggered:

    • Send reminder for all reviews

    • At least 2 stars

    • At least 3 stars

    • At least 4 stars

    • At least 5 stars

2. Customize the email template

To customize the template for your media reminder email:

  • From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Email templates.

  • Under Post-review notifications, click Edit next to Media reminder.

  • In the left menu, scroll down to the Template section and customize the text.

  • Click Save.

3. Exclude specific emails from the media reminder emails

To exclude certain customers from receiving media reminders:

  • From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Request scheduling.

  • Scroll down to the Blocklist and unsubscribed emails and click Manage blocklists.

  • Scroll to the Post-review notifications blocklist.

  • In the input box under Media reminder email, enter one or more email addresses to exclude.

    • Separate multiple emails with commas.

    • Ensure each email is in a valid format (e.g., name@example.com).

  • Click Save to apply your changes.
