Web reviews restriction

Updated over a week ago

By default, anyone can post a review on your product page. While this can boost the number of reviews you get, it also opens the door to potential spammers or competitor-driven attacks.

To prevent this, you can limit who can leave a review and allow only actual buyers to review your products.

Enable restriction for web reviews

To enable restriction for web visitors:

  1. From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Publishing & moderation.

  2. Scroll down to the Review restriction section.

  3. Under Web reviews, choose from these 2 options and click Save.

Option

What it means

Only buyers who have received a review request email and API users

This will hide the Review Widget on products with no reviews, and hides the Write a review button on products with reviews — for all web visitors, including customers who have purchased.

Reviews can still be submitted through the review request emails or via API requests.
