Available on the Free plan
By default, any visitor can leave a review directly on your storefront by clicking the Write a review button in the Review Widget, or the Write a store review button in the All Reviews Widget and Floating Reviews Tab.
While this can boost the number of reviews you get, it also opens the door to potential spammers or competitor-driven attacks.
To prevent this, you can enable Web reviews restriction, which will prevent web reviews from being submitted.
How it works
Here's how web reviews restriction works when enabled:
We'll hide the Write a review button in your Review Widget, and the Write a store review button in your All Reviews Widget and Floating Reviews Tab.
When these buttons are hidden, web visitors (even if they have purchased) can no longer submit reviews directly from your storefront.
Customers can still leave a review through the Judge.me review request email.
For products that don’t have any reviews yet, the Review Widget may also be hidden if there’s no review content to display.
Considerations
As QR codes and Review links are public by design, anyone who has the QR code or review link can submit a review, even when Web reviews restriction is enabled.
