Syncing reviews with Shop app

Updated this week

Available on the Free plan

At Judge.me, we've made it simple to share your reviews and star ratings between our platform and the Shopify's Shop app (also known as Shop Pay).

This integration helps you boost conversions and revenue by showcasing valuable social proof on this mobile-first channel. Plus, you won't have to start from scratch; your existing reviews and ratings can be leveraged on Shop.

How reviews are synced to Shop app

Here’s what the review syncing process to Shop looks like:

  1. You receive and publish a new product review.

  2. We push the raw review content (without any censorship for personal identifiable information (PII) or profanity) to Shopify metaobjects.

  3. Shop checks your reviews to ensure that they meet the following requirements before displaying them on Shop:

    • The review meets all of Shop's eligibility requirements.

    • Reviews must be linked in metaobjects to a verified customer with a Customer ID, Order ID, and Product ID.

    • The review doesn't include non-English language code.

    • Reviews that have been migrated between app review partners using a CSV, or that are uploaded from a CSV aren't eligible to display in Shop.

Which reviews are synced to Shop App

While we can’t guarantee which reviews Shop App will accept, we do know that these reviews are always excluded by Shop App:

What you cannot do

You can't edit, move, or unpublish reviews collected via the Shop App individually.

  • Customers can edit or delete reviews they left via the Shop App. For more details, you can refer to Shopify’s official help article here.

We also don't send admin notifications and coupons for Shop App reviews as they are submitted via the Shop mobile app and are managed separately from product and store reviews submitted on your website.
