We've made it simple to share your reviews and star ratings with Shopify's Shop app (also known as "Shop" or "Shop Pay") — and also bring Shop app reviews back into Judge.me.
This integration helps you maximize social proof across both platforms without starting from scratch.
How it works
This two-way sync works in two directions:
From Judge.me to Shop app: your existing reviews and star ratings can be displayed on your Shop product listings to boost conversions on this mobile-first channel.
From Shop app to Judge.me: reviews submitted by customers in the Shop app will sync into Judge.me as Shop App reviews, so you can display them alongside your other product reviews.
Sync reviews from Judge.me to Shop app
How it works
Here's how the reviews from Judge.me are synced to Shop app:
Judge.me pushes all reviews to Shopify as metaobjects — including published, hidden, and archived reviews. We sync the raw review content as-is (no censorship for PII or profanity).
Shop checks every synced review against Shopify's eligibility requirements for both partner app–collected reviews and general Shop review guidelines.
Reviews that meet the eligibility requirements will then be displayed in the Shop app.
Review eligibility requirements
Shop evaluates every review that Judge.me syncs to metaobjects and only displays reviews that meet all of Shopify's eligibility criteria. These include:
The review meets all of Shopify's content and policy requirements:
It abides by Shop's Prohibited behaviors and content policies.
It is directly related to the product purchased.
It doesn't contain ads, links, or promotional content.
It has a rating between 1 and 5, and contains an author display name.
It isn't submitted by someone with a conflict of interest.
There is only one review for a product per purchase.
It is authentic, and isn't artificially created by a bot or other automation.
It doesn't contain false, misleading, or inaccurate information.
The review is linked in metaobjects to a verified customer with a Customer ID, Order ID, and Product ID.
The review uses an English language code.
The review wasn't imported or migrated using a CSV.
While we can't guarantee which reviews Shop app will accept, based on the requirements above, we know that these reviews are always excluded by Shop app:
The review is hidden or archived.
The review is a store review.
The review is imported from any sources, including:
The review is synced from:
The review is submitted via:
Display Judge.me reviews in Shop app
To show qualified Judge.me reviews in Shop app:
From your Shopify admin, go to Shop > Settings.
Scroll down to the Reviews from Partner apps section.
Click the checkbox next to Display reviews from partner apps in the Shop app.
Considerations
The Display reviews from partner apps in the Shop app setting in Shop App only controls whether qualified Judge.me reviews are displayed in the Shop app. It does not affect whether Shop App reviews will sync into Judge.me.
If the Reviews from Partner apps section is locked or greyed out for you in Shop App, or if you have issues enabling the Display reviews from partner apps in the Shop app setting, please contact Shop App support for assistance.
Shop app can collect reviews independently through Shopify's own review collection setting. This means some reviews you see in the Shop app may not originate from Judge.me. For reviews in the Shop app that were not synced from Judge.me, please contact Shop app support for further details.
View number of synced reviews
To see the number of reviews from Judge.me that are published to your Shop:
There, you'll see the total number of Judge.me reviews that Shop has accepted and published.
If you decide to uninstall Judge.me, please contact Shopify customer support to make any adjustments to your existing Judge.me reviews in Shop app.
Sync reviews from Shop app to Judge.me
How it works
Here's how we sync the reviews from Shop app:
Shop sends reviews to metaobjects. Customers submit reviews through the Shop mobile app, and Shop pushes them to Shopify metaobjects.
We sync the reviews.
We sync the reviews that Shop pushes to metaobjects to Judge.me as product reviews with Shop app source.
All existing Shop app reviews will be synced — This includes both reviews submitted before and after you enable the sync, though it may take a short while for them to appear.
Synced Shop app reviews are automatically published in Judge.me with a Verified by Shop badge.
Whenever a new review comes in, a customer edits or deletes their review, or you reply directly in the Shop app, we sync the change to Judge.me immediately.
How it works with other features

Reviews synced from Shop App are included in the Google Shopping API Product Ratings feed, but excluded from the XML feed.

Reviews synced from Shop app are always published automatically.
Your Publishing and moderation settings — including auto-publish criteria and "Manually moderate all incoming reviews" — don't apply to them.
You can't edit, move, hide, archive, or delete them one at a time or in bulk.
They can only be managed through the Shop app sync — not individually. Keeping the sync enabled displays all Shop app reviews in Judge.me, and disabling it removes all of them.
4. Coupons
We don't generate coupons for reviews synced from Shop app, since they're managed separately from reviews submitted on your website.
5. Admin notifications
We don't send admin notifications for reviews synced from Shop app, since they're managed separately from reviews submitted on your website.
View synced reviews
To view the reviews synced from Shop App:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Reviews.
Click the Search and filter icon (🔍︎ᯤ) on the right.
Click Add filter + on the left.
Select Source.
Click the checkbox next to Shop App.
Display reviews synced from Shop app
Reviews synced from Shop app come in as product reviews and appear in your Judge.me widgets alongside reviews collected through Judge.me — no extra setup needed for most widgets.
Where they appear depends on how they were synced:
Product-specific widgets like the Review Widget and Star Rating Badge automatically include Shop app reviews.
Featured-review widgets like the Cards Carousel, Testimonials Carousel, and Pop-up Reviews show only reviews you've selected. Add Shop app reviews to a featured widget to highlight them on your storefront.

Change "Verified by Shop" badge color
The Verified by Shop badge is only available in English and can't be edited, removed, or translated, but you can change its color across all reviews.
To change the color of your Verified by Shop badge:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Shop.
In the Shop app syndication section, open the "Verified by Shop" badge color dropdown.
Select either Dark or Light.
Click Save.
Reply to Shop app reviews
To reply to reviews synced from Shop App:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Reviews > Shop App reviews.
Click the Reply icon on the right of the review you want to reply.
Click Continue to see the review in Shop.
Enter your reply and click Send reply.
Once submitted, your reply in the Shop app will also appear as a public reply in Judge.me.
If the customer edits their review in the Shop App, your reply will be unpublished in Judge.me.
Enable or disable the Shop app sync
The integration to sync reviews from Shop app to Judge.me is enabled by default.
To manage the review sync from Shop app to Judge.me:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Integrations > Shop.
In the Shop app syndication section, select one of the following options:
Syndicate reviews collected via the Shop app to Judge.me (Recommended) – to enable the sync from Shop app.
Disable – to disable the sync from Shop app.
Click Save.
Note:
This setting only controls whether Shop app reviews are synced to Judge.me. It does not affect whether Judge.me reviews will show in Shop app.
Shop mini: Judge.me Picks
Judge.me Picks is our new experience inside the Shop app's Minis, where shoppers can browse daily product recommendations powered by verified Judge.me reviews.
This helps shoppers discover trusted products more easily while giving merchants increased visibility inside the Shop app ecosystem.
How it works
Judge.me Picks surfaces product recommendations from merchants using Judge.me, based on verified reviews, recent review activity, and shopper-friendly criteria.
Each day, shoppers on the Shop app can explore curated collections such as:
Most reviewed: Products with the highest number of recent verified reviews.
Most loved: Highly rated products with strong review volume.
Great value: Products under price threshold, ranked by reviews.
Trending: Products with growing order activity.
Recommendations are personalized by shopper country/region and updated daily.

Eligibility
Products shown in Judge.me Picks come from stores using Judge.me that meet Shop's eligibility requirements. Judge.me automatically selects review content that complies with Shop App content policies.
