The Cards Carousel is a flexible, fully customizable widget that displays your product reviews in an elegant sliding format. With its mobile-first design and Shopify-native theme editor settings, you can showcase different types of review content on any page, tailored to your brand style. Use it to:
Feature highly visual reviews with images or clean text-only cards
Customize layout, behavior, and review selection per page
Create multiple carousels with different styles for different goals
How it looks
The Cards Carousel displays reviews in a horizontal carousel using a modern, card-based layout. Each card can include review text, customer name, product name, star rating, and optional review media (photo or video).
The carousel layout adjusts automatically based on device size:
Desktop: 3 to 5 cards, depending on your settings and screen width
Tablet: reduced number of cards
Mobile: always 1 card with swipe navigation
Arrows automatically hide when there are not enough reviews to scroll
Cards are styled according to the settings you configure in the Shopify Theme Editor, including colors, text size, corner rounding, and image ratio.
How it works
The Cards Carousel lets you display selected reviews in a horizontal, swipeable layout. You can choose which reviews to show (all reviews, product reviews, store reviews, or specific products) and customize how each card looks. The carousel automatically adjusts to different screen sizes, showing one card on mobile and multiple cards on larger screens. You can also control whether to display review media, reviewer names, product names, card styling, and more through the Shopify Theme Editor.
Considerations
The Cards Carousel does not include the AI Review Summary feature.
The number of visible cards may adjust automatically based on screen size.
Some settings only appear when certain options are enabled (for example, media-related settings appear only when review media is enabled).
The widget requires at least one eligible review; otherwise, it will not display.
Arrows are hidden when there are not enough reviews to scroll.
Options like "Current product" or "Current collection" only work on the respective page types.
Installation
From the Judge.me app
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find Cards Carousel.
Click Install.
You'll be taken directly into the Shopify theme editor with the widget pre-selected.
Save
From Shopify Theme Editor
From your Shopify admin, open Online Store > Customize.
Navigate to the page where you want to add the carousel.
Click Add block / Add section.
Select Cards Carousel.
Save.
Customize the new Reviews Carousel with live preview
The Cards Carousel can be customized in the Shopify Theme Editor.
From your Shopify admin, open Online Store > Customize.
Navigate to the page where you want to customize the carousel.
Find and click the Cards Carousel block.
You'll find all its related settings on the side-editor menu.
Below are all available settings and what they control. Some settings only appear when certain options are enabled.
1. Reviews Selection
Show sample reviews (Preview only)
Enabled by default, this option displays sample reviews in the theme editor. This is useful if your store does not have any published reviews yet. This setting does not affect the live storefront.
Reviews selection
Choose which type of reviews will be shown in the carousel. Available options are:
All
Product reviews
Store reviews
Current product (only works on product pages)
Current collection (only works on collection pages)
Featured
Custom products
If a selection is not compatible with the page you are editing, a warning message will appear inside the theme editor preview.
Select products
Appears only when the "Reviews selection" is set to "Custom products". Lets you select up to 10 products whose reviews you want to feature.
Star rating
Filter reviews display by rating. Options include:
All
5-star only
4 to 5-star only
3 to 5-star only
Show review media
Toggle to show or hide customer photos or videos.
Display order
Available when "Show review media" is enabled. Choose how reviews are ordered:
Media first
Most recent
No image fallback
Available when "Show review media". Determines what is shown when a review has no image:
Review text only
Product image
Maximum review number
Set the maximum number of reviews to load in the carousel (1–30).
2. Layout
Review length
Controls how much of the review text is shown before truncation. Options:
Small
Medium
Large
Text size
Controls the font size for the text inside each card. Options:
Small
Medium
Large
Image ratio
Select the aspect ratio for review media:
4:3
1:1
3:4
Reviews shown on desktop
Set the number of cards displayed at once on desktop (3–5).
Note: The carousel will automatically adjust on smaller screens. Mobile always shows one card.
Show reviewer name
Toggle to show or hide the reviewer's name.
Show product name
Toggle to show or hide the product name associated with each review.
Hide arrows on mobile
Enable to hide navigation arrows on mobile devices. Customers can still swipe to navigate.
Arrows position
Choose where navigation arrows appear:
Sides
Bottom
Maximum width
Set the maximum width of the carousel (600 px to 1600 px). This is useful for centering or constraining the widget inside wide page layouts.
3. Styling
Corner styling
Choose the card corner style:
Square
Soft
Round
Extra round
Header text color
Select a color or enter a HEX code for the header.
Text color
Color for the review text inside the cards.
Card color
Background color of each review card.
Stars color
Color for the star ratings.
Arrows color
Color for the navigation arrows.
4. Behavior
Transition speed
Set the interval for automatic slide transitions.
0 seconds: automatic sliding disabled
1-60 seconds: automatically advance to the next slide based on the selected timing
5. Header
Header text
Customize the title shown above the carousel. By default, set to : "Customers are saying".
Average rating text
Toggle to show or hide the average rating on the header.
