You can customize how the Review Carousel looks and behaves, from layout and scroll settings to what content is shown. Below, you'll find the core customization settings, along with advanced options and troubleshooting tips.
Choose a theme for your Reviews Carousel

To change the Reviews Carousel theme:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Reviews Carousel card and click Customize.
Scroll down to the Theme section.
Under Widget theme, choose from the following themes and click Save.
Select from prebuilt themes to change the overall layout and styling of your Review Carousel:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to the Theme section.
Under Widget theme, choose from the following themes and click Save.

How it looks
This theme is designed to highlight big, bold images, making it ideal for visual storytelling and product presentation.
To change the border style of the Reviews Carousel on the Gallery theme:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Theme.
Under Border style, select either "Square corners" or "Round corners".
Click Save.
To show longer reviews in the Reviews Carousel on the Gallery theme:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Design.
Under Review length, adjust the number of lines to your preference (default to 5).
Click Save.
To show a Read more reviews button at the bottom of the carousel on Gallery theme:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Click Customize text.
In the Button card, enable "Show button at the bottom of the carousel".
Under Button text, adjust the button text (default to "Read more reviews").
Under Page URL, enter the link to your All Reviews page.
Click Save.

In your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Reviews Carousel card and click Customize.
Scroll to the Theme section.
Under Border style, select either:

Click Save.

In your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Reviews Carousel card and click Customize.
Scroll to the Design section.
Under Review length, adjust the number of lines to your preference (Default: 5 lines).

To show a Read more reviews button at the bottom of the carousel on the Gallery theme:
In your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Reviews Carousel card and click Customize.
Under the Text section, click Customize text.
In the Button card, enable the Show button at the bottom of the carousel.
Under Button text, enter your preferred label (Default: "Read more reviews").
Under Page URL, paste the link to your All Reviews page.
Click Save.

To change the star color of the carousel on Cards theme:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Color.
Under Full star color and Empty star color, adjust the color to your preference.

To change the Header and Review block color of the carousel on Vertical sliding theme:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Color.
Under Header background and border, Header text, and Review block, adjust the color to your preference.

To customize the Header and Review block colors for the Vertical sliding theme:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Reviews Carousel card and click Customize.
Scroll down to the Color section.
Choose your preferred color using the color picker or enter a hex code for Header background and border, Header text, and Review block.
Click Save to apply your changes.
Customize the Review Carousel layout
1. Adjust the slider arrows
To choose where to place the slider arrows in your Reviews Carousel:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Theme.
Under Slider arrows, choose from these 2 options:
Show arrows on the sides of the carousel
Show arrows below the carousel
Click Save.
To change the color of the slider arrows:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Color.
Under Slider navigation arrows, adjust the color to your preference.

2. Show/Hide some elements from the Reviews Carousel
To choose which review details you want to show in your Reviews Carousel:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Design.
Under Review details, enable some or all of the following options.
Click Save.
Option | What it means |
Show review rating | Enable to show the star rating of each review in the carousel |
Show review title | Enable to show the title of the featured reviews in the carousel |
Show review body | Enable to show the content of the featured reviews in the carousel |
Show review date | Enable to show the date the review was submitted in the carousel |
To choose which reviewer information you want to show in your Reviews Carousel:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Design.
Under Reviewer information, enable some or all of the following options.
Click Save.

To choose which details you want to show in your Reviews Carousel:
In your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Reviews Carousel card and click Customize.
Scroll to the Design section.
Under Review details, enable some or all of the following options:
Review rating
Review title
Review body
Review date
Under Reviewer information, enable some or all of the following options:
Reviewer name
Product name and URL
Click Save.
3. Show product or review pictures in the Reviews Carousel
To choose the type of pictures you want to show in your Reviews Carousel:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to the Design section.
Under Pictures, select from these options and click Save.
Option | What it means |
Disabled | To not show any pictures |
Show product pictures | To show pictures of the products |
Show review pictures if available | To show pictures from the reviews. If no review pictures are available, fall back to use pictures of the products. |
You can also adjust the physical size of the images to make them less blurry:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Design > Pictures.
Under Picture physical size, adjust the pixel to your preference.
Click Save.

To choose the type of pictures you want to show in your Reviews Carousel:
In your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Reviews Carousel card and click Customize.
Scroll to the Design section.
Under Pictures, choose one of the following options:
Disabled
Show product pictures
Show review pictures if available
Click Save.
To adjust the physical size of the images to make them less blurry:
In the same Design section, scroll to Picture physical size under Pictures.
Adjust the pixel value to your preferred size for clearer images.
Click Save.
4. Adjust the number of reviews and how fast the carousel slides
By default, the Reviews Carousel will show 3 reviews on each slide.
To change how many reviews the carousel will show on each slide on desktop:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Design.
Under Number of reviews on desktop, adjust the number to your preference.
Click Save.
To change how fast the carousel slides:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Design.
Under Autoslide interval, adjust the seconds to your preference.
Hit Save.

To set the number of reviews per slide (desktop)
In your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Reviews Carousel card and click Customize.
Scroll to the main Design section.
Under Number of reviews on desktop, adjust the number to your preference.
Click Save.
To set the carousel slide speed
In the same Design section, find Autoslide interval.
Adjust the interval (in seconds) to control how fast the carousel slides.
Click Save.
5. Show longer reviews in the Reviews Carousel
By default, the carousel height is set to 250px, but you can increase its height to prevent longer reviews from being cut off.
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Design > Block height and adjust the pixel to your preference.
Click Save.

By default, the carousel height is set to 250px, but you can increase its height to prevent longer reviews from being cut off.
To increase the carousel height:
In your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Reviews Carousel card and click Customize.
Scroll to the Design section.
Under Block height, increase the height (in pixels) to fit longer reviews.
Click Save.
6. Adjust the width of the Reviews Carousel
By default, the Reviews Carousel is set to 80% width of the block it is installed in.
To adjust this width:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Design > Page width and adjust the percentage to your preference.
Click Save.
7. Remove the header of the Reviews Carousel
To remove the header ("Let customers speak for us") from the Reviews Carousel:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Header and disable "Show the header".
Click Save.

To hide the default header (“Let customers speak for us”) from the Reviews Carousel:
In your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Reviews Carousel card and click Customize.
Scroll to the Header section.
Uncheck the box for Show the header.
Click Save.
8. Link your carousel to a Reviews page
To link the Reviews Carousel to your Reviews page:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to Header and enable "Link text to All Reviews Page if available".
Enter the link to your All Reviews page.
Click Save.

You can make the text under the Reviews Carousel header (e.g., “ from {{n}} reviews”) clickable and link it to your Reviews page.
To link the Reviews Carousel header text:
In your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Reviews Carousel card and click Customize.
Scroll to the Header section.
Enable Link text to All Reviews Page if available.
Enter the URL of your All Reviews page.
Click Save.
Customize the texts in the Reviews Carousel
To adjust the texts in your Reviews Carousel:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Click Customize text.
Adjust the texts below to your liking and click Save:

Customize the Reviews Carousel with JavaScript (Advanced)
To apply even more custom styling to your Reviews Carousel:
From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
Find the theme you want to edit, click the 3-dot icon and select Edit code.
Go to the theme.liquid file.
At the bottom of that file, above the before ending

Troubleshoot
Product images appear broken in the Reviews Carousel
Product images appear broken in the Reviews Carousel
Issue:
The product images in the Reviews Carousel show as missing or broken (typically shown as a small icon and placeholder).
Why it happens:
The product images might appear broken in the Reviews Carousel if you've recently updated the products and replaced or changed their images.
When product images are changed, the image URLs may be refreshed or temporarily unavailable, causing the carousel to attempt to load outdated or invalid links.
How to fix:
To refresh the image links in the Reviews Carousel:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Reviews Carousel > Customize.
Scroll down to the Design section.
Under Pictures:
Select "Disabled" and click Save.
Then, select "Show product pictures" and click Save again.

If the product images in your Reviews Carousel aren’t showing correctly, try refreshing the image links:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Reviews Carousel card and click Customize.
Scroll down to the main Design section.
Under Pictures:
Select Disabled and click Save.
Then, select Show product pictures and click Save again.
