Syncing reviews from Google Business Profile

Automatically sync reviews from your Google Business Profile and build trust with shoppers

Want to showcase your store’s Google reviews on Judge.me automatically? By connecting your Google Business Profile, you can regularly sync reviews from your Google listing into your Judge.me app—no manual work required.


How it works

Here’s how syncing reviews from your Google Business Profile works:

  1. You connect your Google Business Profile and initiate the sync.

  2. New reviews are synced from your connected Google Business Profile every 7 days. These reviews are added as Store reviews as they reflect overall customer feedback about your business (e.g. shopping experience, customer service, and shipping).

  3. You can display your synced reviews using any of the following widgets:

    • Cards Carousel

    • Testimonials Carousel

    • Videos Carousel

    • Pop-up Reviews

    • Review Snippets

    • All Reviews Widget

    • Floating Reviews Tab

    • Reviews Carousel


Considerations

Please consider these limitations carefully before enabling the integration:

  1. As Google does not verify reviews submitted in Google Business Profile, reviews synced from here won't be verified in Judge.me. Unverified reviews, unfortunately, will lower the Authenticity score for your Judge.me medals.

  2. Reviews synced from Google Business Profile cannot be edited, deleted, or replied to within Judge.me.

  3. Due to Google’s limitations:

    • Review images will not be synced.

    • For reviews synced before June 05, 2025:

      • Reviewer names will appear as "Google reviewer".

      • If Google automatically translates a review, both the translated version and the original text will be included in the synced review.

  4. The sync feature may not work in restricted countries (e.g., China).


Sync reviews from Google Business Profile

To start syncing reviews from your Google Business Profile:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Judge.me Reviews > Settings.

  2. Go to Google and SEO.

  3. Scroll down to the Google Business Profile section at the bottom and click Manage.

  4. Click Connect to Google Business.

  5. Click the checkbox next to "Google policy requires that reviews imported from your Google Business Profile will be displayed as store reviews and will not be marked as verified" and click Next.

  6. Log in to the Google account that manages your Google Business Profile and click Allow to complete the connection (we only need the permission to see your Google Business listings).

  7. Back in the Google Business Profile settings in your Judge.me admin, in the Reviews sync section, click Initiate.

  8. Choose the Google Business Profile location(s) to sync reviews and click Next.

Your reviews typically sync within a few or up to 30 minutes. New reviews will now sync automatically every 7 days. You can check your last review sync date and next review sync date in the Review sync section.


Manage reviews synced from Google Business Profile

1. View your synced reviews

To see the reviews synced from your Google Business Profile:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Judge.me Reviews > Reviews.

  2. In the ★ Reviews tab, click the Search and filter icon (🔍︎ᯤ) on the right.

  3. Click Add filter + on the left and select Source.

  4. Scroll down and click the checkbox next to "Google".

2. Display your synced reviews

As reviews from Google Business Profile are synced as store reviews, they won’t appear in the Review Widget on product pages, even if they are set to Published.

To display reviews synced from Google Business Profile in your storefront, you can:


Disconnect and reconnect

If you no longer want to sync new reviews from your Google Business Profile, you can disconnect the syndication:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Judge.me Reviews > Settings.

  2. Go to Google and SEO.

  3. Scroll down to the Google Business Profile section at the bottom and click Manage.

  4. In the Connection section, click Disconnect from Google Business.

  5. In the confirmation pop-up, click Disconnect again.

When you disconnect your account, existing reviews will remain visible in Judge.me.

When you reconnect:

  • We'll sync any new reviews from the last connection date.

  • We'll update existing ones if reviewers have made changes on Google.

  • If you connect a different Google account, Judge.me will sync reviews from the new store. Previous reviews will remain unchanged.
