Replying to reviews

Responding to product reviews is a great way to build trust, show appreciation, and resolve customer concerns. Whether you're thanking someone for a glowing review or addressing an issue, your reply can help create a more transparent and engaging shopping experience.

This guide shows you how to reply to reviews publicly, privately, or by using our AI reply generator.

Reply publicly

Public replies appear directly beneath the review in your Review Widget, helping potential buyers see how you interact with customers.

To reply publicly to a review:

  1. From your Judge.me admin, go to Manage Reviews > Reviews Dashboard.

  2. Find the review you want to reply to.

  3. Click the reply icon, then select Reply publicly.

Adjust your public reply

To edit or delete your public reply:

  • From your Judge.me admin, go to Manage Reviews > Reviews Dashboard.

  • Find the reply you want to adjust.

  • Click the three dots next to the reply.

  • Select "Edit public reply" to edit your reply or "Delete reply" to remove it.

Reply notification email

💡 You can notify the reviewer via email when you reply. To enable or customize this email:

  1. From your Judge.me admin, go to Collect Reviews > Reviewer Notifications.

  2. Find the Reply notification email and click Customize.


For other e-commerce platforms

  1. Go to Manage Reviews > Reviews Dashboard.

  2. Select the review you want to reply.

  3. Click the reply icon and choose Public reply (widget).

To customize the reply notification email, go to Settings > Other Emails > Reply to Review Email.


Change the display name for replies

By default, your replies will display your store name. You can customize this name in your Review Widget settings.

  1. From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Review Widget > Customize.

  2. Click Customize text.

  3. In Review details, update the Store reply label with your preferred display name.

Reply privately (via email)

To reply to the review via email:

  1. From your Judge.me admin, go to Manage Reviews > Reviews Dashboard.

  2. Pick the review you want to respond to.

  3. Click the reply icon and select Reply privately via email.


For other e-commerce platforms

  1. Go to Manage Reviews > Reviews Dashboard.

  2. Select the review you want to reply.

  3. Click the reply icon and choose Private reply (email).
