If you manage multiple Shopify stores that sell the same products, whether across regions, languages, or through affiliate partners, cross-store review syndication helps you display the same product reviews across all your stores. In this guide, you’ll learn what cross-store syndication is, how review matching works using SKUs, how to set it up step-by-step, and what limitations or best practices to keep in mind.
Why use cross-store review syndication?
This feature is ideal for:
Multi-regional or multilingual stores: Share reviews across stores to provide social proof in every market.
Brand partnerships, resellers, or affiliates: Help your partners showcase authentic customer feedback from your main store to increase product credibility and conversions.
How reviews are matched across stores
Cross-store review syndication allows you to automatically share reviews between Shopify stores connected through Judge.me. When products match, reviews collected on one store will also appear on the same product in your other stores, both past and future reviews are included.
Matching logic
Judge.me uses Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) to determine whether products across different stores are the same. For reviews to sync correctly:
A product's overall SKU is formed by combining the SKUs of all its variants.
The number of variants must be identical across all connected stores.
The order of variants doesn’t matter, as long as the individual SKUs are the same.
✅ Example: Reviews can be syndicated
In this example, the T-shirt has four variants in both Store A and Store B. Although the variant order is different, the SKUs match, and the number of variants is the same, so reviews can be successfully shared between these stores.
Product | Store A | Store B |
T-shirt | Red = SKU1 Blue = SKU2 Yellow = SKU3 Black = SKU4 | Yellow = SKU3 Black = SKU4 Red = SKU1 Blue = SKU2 |
❌ Example: Reviews cannot be syndicated
In this case, the T-shirt in Store C has four variants, but Store D has only three. Also, the SKUs are not consistent across stores. Because of these differences, Judge.me cannot recognize the products as identical, and reviews will not be synced between these stores.
Product | Store C | Store D |
T-shirt | Red = SKU1 Blue = SKU2 Yellow = SKU3 Black = SKU4 | Black = SKU3 Red = SKU2 Blue = SKU1 |

How review syndication works with other features
Google Shopping
To sync reviews to Google Shopping, you need to create a separate XML ratings feed for each store, even if the same reviews are syndicated across stores. This is because Google requires that reviews originate from the correct store domain. Learn how to set up your Google Shopping ratings feed.
Product Groups
If you use Product Groups in combination with cross-store syndication, ensure the product groups are identical across all stores for accurate syncing.
Judge.me review site listings
If your connected stores are listed on the Judge.me review site, reviews submitted to one store will automatically appear on the listings for all other connected stores.
