You can add Judge.me widgets to your Shopify cart page to show reviews before shoppers complete their purchase.
Displaying reviews on the cart page helps build trust at a key decision point. Shoppers can see social proof for the products in their cart, which can help increase checkout confidence and reduce cart abandonment.
The following widgets include cart-specific features when added to the cart page:
Review Widget — shows a curated selection of reviews for the products in the cart
Cards Carousel — supports a "Cart" review selection to show reviews for cart products
Testimonials Carousel — supports a "Cart" review selection to show reviews for cart products
Videos Carousel — supports a "Cart" review selection to show reviews for cart products
Reviews Grid Widget — displays reviews on the cart page
You can also add other Judge.me widgets to the cart page, such as Medals, Counters, Floating Reviews Tab, and Reviews Carousel. However, these widgets work the same way on the cart page as they do on other pages. For the full list of available widgets, see Judge.me widgets.
How it works
The Review Widget, Cards Carousel, Testimonials Carousel, Videos Carousel, and Reviews Grid Widget offer a Cart review selection option. When set to Cart, the widget automatically shows reviews for the products currently in the customer's cart:
The widget reads the products currently in the cart.
It selects top-ranked reviews across those products, starting with one review per product.
If the cart products don't have enough reviews, the widget fills remaining slots with store reviews.
Considerations
All widgets on the cart page require a Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme.
If the cart is empty, widgets won't display any reviews.

Review Widget in Cart page:
Uses a simplified layout on the cart page — does not include the average rating summary, histogram, filter and sort bar, search, or Write a review button.
Shows up to 5 curated review cards. The variant title on each card matches the product variant in the cart.
Always uses the standard review layout, regardless of the theme selected in your Review Widget customization settings.
If the cart products have no reviews but the store has store reviews, an aggregate card showing the store's average rating and review count is displayed instead.
Supports review translation. Shoppers can translate individual reviews using the Translate button on each review card.
Cards Carousel, Testimonials Carousel, Videos Carousel in Cart page:
Show up to 5 reviews for the products in the cart.
Reviews Grid Widget in Cart page:
The number of reviews shown is based on the grid's column setting — it displays 2 rows (e.g. 6 reviews on desktop with 3 columns, 4 on mobile with 2 columns).
Header and pagination are hidden in cart mode.
If the cart products have no reviews but the store has store reviews, an aggregate card is displayed instead.
Theme editor preview:
The Review Widget shows an aggregate card in the editor preview — individual review cards only appear on the live storefront.
The Reviews Grid Widget does not display reviews in the editor preview since there is no live cart in the theme editor.
How to set it up
Step 1: Enable Judge.me app embed
To enable Judge.me app embed:
From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
Find the theme you want to edit and click Edit theme.
From the menu on the top left, click the App embeds icon (the third icon).
Enable the Judge.me app embed.
Click Save on the top right.
Step 2: Add a widget to your cart page
To add a widget on your cart page:
From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
Find the theme you want to edit and click Edit theme.
At the top of the theme editor, open the template dropdown in the middle.
Select Cart.
On the left panel, inside Template, click + Add section.
Open the Apps tab.
Select one of the following Judge.me widgets you'd like to add:
Review Widget
Cards Carousel
Testimonials Carousel
Videos Carousel
Reviews Grid Widget
Inside the Apps section, click the widget you added to open its settings.
Next to Reviews selection, choose Cart.
(Optional) Hover over the block, hold the 6-dot icon (⋮⋮), and drag it up or down to change its position.
Click Save on the top right.
