You can add Judge.me widgets to your Cart Drawer, the slide-out panel that opens when a customer adds a product to their cart without leaving the page.
Showing reviews in the Cart Drawer helps build trust at a key purchase moment. Shoppers can see social proof for the products in their cart before they continue to checkout.
You can display these Judge.me widgets in the Cart Drawer:
Review Widget — shows up to 5 curated 4- and 5-star reviews for the products in the cart, with store reviews as fallback. If no reviews are available, shows a store aggregate card (overall rating and review count).
Cards Carousel — shows up to 5 curated 4- and 5-star review cards for cart products, with store reviews as fallback. If no reviews are available, shows a store aggregate card.
Testimonials Carousel — shows up to 5 curated 4- and 5-star testimonial cards for cart products, with store reviews as fallback. If no reviews are available, shows a store aggregate card.
Videos Carousel — shows up to 5 curated 4- and 5-star video cards for cart products, with store reviews as fallback. If no reviews are available, shows a store aggregate card.
Reviews Grid Widget — shows curated 4- and 5-star reviews in a grid (up to 2 rows), with store reviews as fallback. If no reviews are available, shows a store aggregate card.
How it works
When a customer opens the cart drawer, the Judge.me app embed detects the cart drawer and displays the enabled widget inside it.
The cart drawer widget shows reviews for the products currently in the customer’s cart. For example, if a customer adds a shirt and a pair of shoes to their cart, the widget can show reviews related to those cart products.
Considerations
Cart drawer widgets require a Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme.
The cart drawer must be a native theme feature (e.g. Dawn, Horizon). Custom or third-party cart drawers may not be detected.
Cart drawer widget is enabled as an App embed, not as individual app blocks on a Shopify template.

Review Widget in Cart Drawer:
Uses a simplified layout — does not include the average rating summary, histogram, filter and sort bar, search, or Write a review button.
Shows up to 5 curated review cards. The variant title on each card matches the product variant in the cart.
Uses the same review layout theme (standard, cards, carousel, or align) as configured in your Review Widget customization settings.
Cards Carousel, Testimonials Carousel, Videos Carousel in Cart Drawer:
Show up to 5 reviews for the products in the cart.
Reviews Grid Widget in Cart Drawer:
The number of reviews shown is based on the grid's column setting — it displays 2 rows.
The average rating display and pagination are hidden. The heading text is still shown.
If the cart is empty but the store has reviews, an aggregate card showing the store's average rating and review count is displayed instead. If the store has no reviews, the widget is hidden.
Add the Cart Drawer widget
Step 1: Enable Judge.me app embed
To enable Judge.me app embed:
From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
Find the theme you want to edit and click Edit theme.
From the menu on the top left, click the App embeds icon (the third icon).
Enable the Judge.me app embed.
Click Save on the top right.
Step 2: Enable Cart Drawer widget
To enable the Cart drawer widget:
From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
Find the theme you want to edit and click Edit theme.
From the menu on the top left, click the App embeds icon (the third icon).
Click the app embed name to expand its settings.
Enable the Reviews in Cart Drawer app embed.
Next to Widget style, choose the widget you want to display in the cart drawer.
Click Save.
