If you’re moving your store from WooCommerce to Shopify, you can bring your Judge.me reviews with you. This way, you won’t lose valuable customer feedback when switching platforms.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to export your reviews from your Judge.me account on WooCommerce and import them into your new Judge.me account on Shopify.
Considerations
Each store is tied to a separate Judge.me account. When migrating from WooCommerce to Shopify, a new Judge.me account will be created for your Shopify store.
Reviews imported from your Judge.me account on WooCommerce won’t be verified in your Judge.me account on Shopify. This is because orders, products, and customers are stored differently on each platform, so we can’t confirm the original purchase data across platforms.
Imported reviews won’t appear in your Google Shopping product reviews feed.
Unverified product reviews and Store reviews cannot be synced to TikTok Shop.
How to import reviews from WooCommerce to Shopify
Step 1: Export reviews from WooCommerce
We have sunset our app in WooCommerce so reviews can no longer be exported directly from your WooCommerce admin.
If you previously used Judge.me on WooCommerce and want to move those reviews to Shopify, our team can help export them for you.
To request an export of your reviews from your Judge.me account in WooCommerce:
Contact Judge.me Support and let us know you’d like to import your WooCommerce reviews into Shopify.
Use the store owner or an admin email associated with your Judge.me account so we can verify store ownership.
Once verified, we’ll export your WooCommerce reviews from our system.
When the export is ready, we’ll email the review file to the admin email address on record.
Step 2: Import reviews to Shopify
To import the reviews that you exported from your Judge.me account on WooCommerce to your Judge.me account on Shopify:
Upload the file:
From your Judge.me admin on Shopify, go to Settings > Import reviews.
In the Import reviews section, scroll down to find From another store you own that uses Judge.me and click Import from another store.
In the Transfer reviews section, go to Transfer Judge.me reviews from your previous store.
Upload the CSV file you got in Step 1.
Under Import reviews as, select whether to want to import the reviews as "Product reviews" or "Store reviews".
Click Next.
Map the columns:
Since the file was exported from another Judge.me account, most fields will be pre-matched correctly:
Review title → title
Review body (Required) → body
Rating (Required) → rating
Review date → review_date
Reviewer name → reviewer_name
Reviewer email → reviewer_email
Reply → reply
For any columns that don’t have values in your file (e.g. picture_urls, ip_address, or other unused fields), select Skipped from the dropdown.
Click Next.
Select product identifier: Since the product identifiers differ between WooCommerce and Shopify, reviews can’t be matched automatically. In this step, you choose which product identifier will be used to prepare for the mapping in the next step.
Under Match products using, select "Manual product mapping (by reference column)".
In the Reference column in your file dropdown, choose either "product_id" (recommended since WooCommerce products can sometimes share the same handle) or "product_handle".
Click Next.
Map the products: Now, link each product reference from your CSV to the correct Shopify product.
In the Product column, search for and select the matching Shopify product for each reference.
All reviews with the same reference (e.g. the same product_id) will be linked to the Shopify product you select.
If a product isn’t mapped, its reviews will be imported as store reviews instead.
Once all products are mapped, click Import to finish.
Step 3: Check the import result
Once you upload the review file, we process it in the background.
When the import is complete (usually within 5 minutes), you’ll receive an email with the results, sent to the address listed under your Admin notifications in your Judge.me account on Shopify.
You can also view these results directly in the Reviews Import Log inside your Judge.me admin on Shopify.
Troubleshoot
All reviews in WooCommerce failed to import to Shopify
All reviews in WooCommerce failed to import to Shopify
When transferring your Judge.me reviews from WooCommerce to Shopify, if all or most of your reviews fail to import, it’s likely because you selected Judge.me as the import format when uploading the file.
This option expects products to match automatically, but since product identifiers differ between WooCommerce and Shopify, the import will fail.
To fix this, use the Import from another store option instead. This method lets you manually map products from your WooCommerce export to the correct Shopify products, ensuring your reviews are imported successfully.
