At Judge.me, authenticity is everything. Reviews are powerful because they reflect genuine customer experiences. That said, there may be times when a review contains a typo, missing photo, or personal information that needs updating.

This article explains how to make small edits—such as fixing typos or adding images/videos—while preserving the integrity of the original review.

How it works

To correct typos or grammatical errors in the review, clarify wording for better understanding, or to add photos or videos to an existing review, you can edit the review directly in your Reviews dashboard.

To comply with Shopify's guidelines and and maintain the trustworthiness of reviews:

  • Edits are limited to 30 characters, including deleted characters.

  • The original reviewer will be notified when there's an edit in their review (doesn't apply to imported reviews).

For collected (non-imported) reviews:

  • You can't edit the following fields:

    • The Reviewer name

    • The rating of the review

    • The date the review was submitted

  • Instead:

    • You can send a Review Update Request to ask the reviewer to change their rating, name, or feedback.

    • If you have set up Judge.me in Shopify's Customer Account, customers can also edit their reviews there.

How to edit a review

To edit a review:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Judge.me Reviews > Reviews.

  2. In the ★ Reviews tab, click the 3-dot icon (...) on the right of the review you want to edit and select Edit review.

  3. Edit the review content (up to 30 characters) and/or add pictures or videos.

  4. Click Send email.

Once you've clicked Send email, we'll notify the reviewer with the following email (the email content is fixed and cannot be customized):
