Importing reviews using Judge.me template

Upload reviews from other platforms or offline sources using our CSV format

Updated this week

Available on the Free plan

Have reviews from Facebook, Instagram, offline sales, or personal connections? No problem! With Judge.me, you can quickly create and upload a properly formatted CSV file to showcase customer feedback on your store.

Considerations

  • Reviews imported even when using Judge.me template won't be verified in Judge.me as they don't provide verification data that meets our standards.

Before you import

Notes:

You can upload your file in any of the following formats: .csv, .xls, or .xlsx; however, we recommend using CSV as it’s the most reliable format and it avoids formatting issues that can occur with Excel files, such as hidden characters, merged cells, or formula-based values.

To import reviews into Judge.me, you’ll first need to prepare a CSV file containing your reviews in the correct format.

  1. Open our Google Sheet template and click Make a copy to start editing (or click here to download the sample file). This template includes all required columns and example values to guide you.

  2. Fill in your reviews with this format:

Considerations

Currently, it's not possible to import videos directly with your review files. As a workaround, you can import the reviews first, then manually edit them to add videos.

To add videos to an imported review:

  1. From your Judge.me admin, go to Reviews.

  2. Find the review you want to update.

  3. Click the three-dot menu next to the review and select Edit review.

  4. Upload your video(s).

  5. Click Save.

Import your reviews to Judge.me

Once you've finished adding reviews to your file, download it to your computer:

  1. From your Google Sheet screen, go to File > Download.

  2. Select Comma Separated Values (.csv).

Then upload the file you just downloaded to Judge.me by following these steps :

  1. From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Import reviews.

  2. Scroll to the Manual reviews import section, click Get started.

  3. Upload your CSV file.

  4. Choose to import your reviews as product or store reviews.

  5. Check the box I confirm my reviews are genuine and I have permission to import them.

  6. Click Next.

  7. Match the columns in your CSV file with the corresponding Judge.me fields. Judge.me will attempt to match these columns automatically, but you can adjust them as needed.

  8. Select your preferred product identifier. For example, product URL.

  9. Click Import.

Note:

  • We do not send any emails to customers listed in your CSV file during the review import process. Imported reviews are treated as historical data and will not trigger any notifications.

After you import

Once you upload the review file, we process it in the background.

When the import is complete (usually within 5 minutes), you’ll receive an email with the results, sent to the address listed under your Admin notifications.

You can also view these results directly in the Reviews Import Log inside your Judge.me admin.

If your import succeeds

If your reviews are successfully imported:

  • To show your imported Product reviews on product pages, install the Star Rating Badge and Review Widget.

  • To show your imported Store reviews, set up the All Reviews Page and Floating Reviews Tab.

  • Since videos are not imported by default, if you have videos in your reviews, after the reviews have been imported, you can edit the reviews to upload your videos.

If your import fails

If, unfortunately, your reviews fail to import, check out this article to fix your CSV file and reimport the failed reviews.
