8. Assign templates per product
Available on the Awesome plan for Early user program participants.
If you have multiple smart styling templates, you can assign different templates to different products. For example, you might use a casual template for apparel and a more detailed template for electronics.
How it works
You choose one smart template as your per-product default — this template is used for any product that doesn't have a specific assignment.
You can then assign individual products to other templates.
When Judge.me sends a review request, it checks whether the product has a specific template assigned:
If it does, that template is used.
If not, the per-product default is used.
Reminders follow the same template as the initial request for that product.
Set up per-product templates
Before you start, make sure that:
You have at least 2 active smart email templates.
For easier navigation, we recommend naming each template differently.
To set up per-product templates:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Request scheduling.
Scroll down to the Request limits and fallbacks section, and click the Per-product review request templates card.
In the pop-up, check Send a different review request email per product.
Select the Default template for your products.
Click Save.
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Email templates.
Click Edit next to the Smart email template you'd like to assign specific products to.
In Products section, click Assign products.
Select the products and click Add, the assignment is saved immediately.
Notes:
The per-product default template must stay active — you can't deactivate or delete it while per-product templates are enabled. To change the default, set a different template as the default first.
Each product can only be assigned to one template at a time.
You can assign up to 1,000 products per template in a single update.
If you deactivate a template that has product assignments, those products will fall back to the per-product default until the template is reactivated.
If you downgrade from the Awesome plan, all product template assignments are removed.
Per-product templates are not available if your review requests are sent through Klaviyo or Shopify Flow. To use this feature, switch back to Judge.me's built-in review request emails first.
Troubleshoot
Star alignment looks off in the Gmail app (Android)
Star alignment looks off in the Gmail app (Android)
If the star icons in your Smart styling email template appear misaligned when viewing in the Gmail app in Android, it’s often caused by the phone using a larger system text size or display scaling. Gmail inherits these settings, so the email layout can shift.
To fix the star alignment issue in the Smart styling template in mobile, check your Android Font size or Display size / Screen zoom.
