Review tags help you organize reviews as your review volume grows. You can use tags to group reviews by workflow, product feedback, marketing use case, or any internal process your team follows.
Tags also bring featured and pinned review actions into one tag-based workflow. The Feature review and Pin review on the Reviews Widget system tags keep the same behavior as the previous favorite and pin actions, while giving you a clearer way to manage reviews from one place.
How it works
Review tags are labels you apply to reviews in your Judge.me admin. They help you organize, filter, and manage reviews without scrolling through an unstructured list.
Judge.me has two types of review tags:
System tags: Built-in tags for Feature review and Pin review on the Reviews Widget. These tags cannot be deleted.
Custom tags: Tags you create for your own workflows. These tags are automatically deleted when they are removed from all reviews.
Judge.me includes two permanent system tags:
Feature review: keeps the same behavior as the previous favorite review action. Applying this tag marks the review as featured. While, removing it removes the featured status.
Pin review on the Reviews Widget: keeps the same behavior as the previous pin review action. Applying this tag pins the review on the Review Widget. While, removing it unpins the review.
If you previously featured or pinned reviews, those reviews keep working as expected and appear through the new system tag workflow.
Judge.me may also show suggested tags in the Edit tags pop-up to help you get started:
Needs follow-up
Product feedback
Selected for marketing
Selected for widget display
To hide a suggested tag, click the X icon next to it. Once dismissed, that suggested tag won’t appear again for your store.
Considerations
Custom tag names can have up to 64 characters.
Each store can have up to 1,000 tags.
Each review can have up to 50 tags.
Bulk tagging supports up to 500 selected reviews at a time.
Bulk tagging applies to custom tags. To update Feature review or Pin review on the Reviews Widget, edit the tags on an individual review.
Custom tags are automatically deleted when they are removed from all reviews.
System tags cannot be deleted.
Tags cannot be renamed.
To rename a tag, create a new tag, apply it to the relevant reviews, then remove the old tag from all reviews. Once the old custom tag is removed from all reviews, Judge.me automatically deletes it.
Tags are currently used for organizing and filtering reviews in the Judge.me admin.
Filtering widget content by tags is planned for a future update.

Select the reviews you want to update.
Choose the bulk action Tag reviews.
In the Edit tags pop-up, select/unselect custom tags.
Click Save.
When editing tags for multiple reviews:
Description | Example |
A checked tag means the tag is applied to all selected reviews.
An unchecked tag means the tag is not applied to any selected reviews.
An indeterminate tag means the tag is applied to some, but not all, selected reviews. |
If you leave an indeterminate tag unchanged, Judge.me keeps the existing tag assignments.
How to filter reviews by tags
You can filter your reviews by one or more tags from the reviews table. To filter reviews by tags:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Reviews.
Click the search icon.
Click Add filter, and select Tags.
Select one or more tags.
Judge.me will show reviews that match any selected tag.
When multiple tags are selected, the filter uses OR logic. This means a review appears if it has at least one of the selected tags.
For example, if you select Product feedback and Selected for marketing, Judge.me shows reviews that have either of those tags.
The same OR logic applies when you combine custom tags with system tags. For example, selecting Feature review and Product feedback shows reviews that are featured or have the Product feedback tag.
