Judge.me & Checkout Extender integration

Bring relevant product feedback into checkout and upsell offers

The Judge.me and Checkout Extender integration displays customer reviews for products in the cart and adds star ratings to upsell product cards. Shoppers can see feedback about what they are buying or considering adding, without returning to the product page. Judge.me supplies the review data; Checkout Extender controls where it appears.

Reassure shoppers about items already in the cart

A kitchenware store could show a stand mixer in the order summary and a review of that mixer in a nearby Testimonials block. Checkout Extender selects reviews for the products in the customer’s cart, keeping the feedback relevant to the purchase. Choose a stacked display or carousel to fit the checkout layout.

Add context to an extra purchase

Ratings and review counts can appear on upsell cards at checkout, after purchase, and on thank-you or order-status pages. A shopper considering an additional product can assess its feedback alongside the offer. Testimonials and upsell ratings work independently, so you can start with the placement that suits your store.

How the integration works

Choose Judge.me as the review source in Checkout Extender. Enable Testimonials, upsell ratings or both, then configure the supported placements. A checkout Testimonials block must also be added in Shopify’s checkout editor.

Checkout Extender refreshes the review data when the customer visits or reloads the page. An upsell product without reviews can still appear, but its card will not show a rating. Continue collecting and managing feedback in Judge.me; the partner app handles its display in checkout and upsell experiences.

Before you connect

• Judge.me: the Free plan supports this connection. Install both apps on the same Shopify store and have reviews for the products you want to feature.

• Testimonials and checkout: Shopify Plus is required for blocks during checkout. Checkout Extender’s top plan, currently listed as Shopify Plus, includes checkout extensions; the setup guide calls this its Plus plan.

• After-purchase offers: Checkout Extender Growth or above supports ratings on post-purchase, thank-you and order-status upsells. These placements do not require Shopify Plus solely to use app extensions.

• Review source: only one source can be active in Checkout Extender at a time.

• Ownership: Checkout Extender maintains this integration and its display settings.

Already using both apps? Choose Judge.me, enable one placement and preview a reviewed product. For Testimonials, put that product in the cart and check that the block displays matching feedback.

New to either app? Install Judge.me and Checkout Extender, choose the partner plan for your intended placement and collect or prepare product reviews. Follow the setup guide, then test the customer experience before expanding to other placements.
