QR codes are ideal for:
Parcel inserts: Include a QR code on packaging inserts or shipping labels so customers can scan right after unboxing.
In-store displays: Place printed QR codes near checkout counters or fitting rooms so customers can review their in-store experience while it's fresh.
Handouts: Provide business cards or flyers with a QR code during events, trade shows, or pop-up markets to encourage follow-up reviews.
How it works
You first create a QR code — for a specific product, all products, or your store — and share it on a parcel insert, an in-store display, or a handout. Whichever type you use, collecting the review then follows the same flow:
The customer scans the QR code and submits a review: They land on a review form, fill it in, and submit it. The review is then published or hidden based on your moderation settings. For an all-products QR code, they select the product first.
We confirm the customer. We email the customer to confirm it's them who are writing the review. Once they confirm and the email matches a customer of your store, their review will be verified automatically.
These stages can happen in either order — depending on your settings, we confirm the customer before they write the review, after they submit it, or not at all. See Review confirmation emails for the full flow.
Considerations
QR codes are public by design. Anyone who scans the QR code can submit a review, even if they haven’t purchased the product — regardless of your Who can see a button to write reviews in widgets setting for web reviews.
Reviews submitted using a QR code that are not confirmed by the reviewers won't be verified.

Which review form to use
Available on the Free plan
When a customer scans your QR code, you choose whether they write their review directly on your store or on our hosted page. Both options use the same form content and styling — see the two review forms for what each one looks like.
To choose which form customers see when scanning the QR code:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Collection flow.
Scroll down to the Review collection section at the bottom.
Open the Where customer gets redirected when writing reviews from emails dropdown.
Select one of the following options:
In-store review form – Customers write their review directly on your store, in the popup form on the page. You'd need to install either the Review Widget for product reviews, or the Happy Customers Widget for store reviews. If neither is installed, use External form instead.
External form (Recommended) – Customers write their review on our hosted page, which opens in a new tab.
Click Save.
This setting isn't limited to QR codes — it also controls where customers land when they write a review from a review request email or a review link.
