This article only applies to Shopify development stores (affiliate or partner_test). If your store is on a paid Shopify plan (Basic, Shopify, Advanced, etc.), the Awesome plan isn't available for free — see Judge.me Awesome plan for pricing and upgrade options.
Considerations
Not every store with a Development store label in Shopify qualifies. Eligibility is based on your underlying Shopify plan — only stores on the
affiliateandpartner_testplan can use the Awesome plan for free. Development stores created with a paid plan tier (Basic, Grow, Advanced, Plus) aren't eligible.
Check if your store is eligible
To check if your store is eligible to upgrade to the Awesome plan free of charge:
On the Plan page:
If you see the "Development stores can use our Awesome plan features for free. When you upgrade you'll be asked to confirm a test charge, but you won't be billed for it." notice, your store is eligible.
If you don't see that notice, your store isn't on an eligible Shopify development plan. For standard upgrade options, see Judge.me Awesome plan.
Upgrade to the Awesome plan for free
To upgrade to the Awesome plan for free if you're on an eligible development plan:
Click the Upgrade to Awesome or Start your free trial button in the top-right corner. You’ll be redirected to the Shopify subscription approval screen.
On the approval screen, you'll see a yellow "You will not be billed for this test charge" banner.
Click Approve to start the Awesome plan for free.
What happens when you upgrade a development store to a Shopify paid plan?
When you upgrade your development store to a Shopify paid plan, please note the following:
Activation Required: You'll need to activate the real charge of $15 per month to continue using the Judge.me Awesome plan. We will send you an email immediately after you upgrade your Shopify plan to notify you about this requirement.
48-Hour Window: You have 48 hours to activate the real charge. If you don't do so within this time frame, your Awesome plan will be downgraded to the Forever Free plan, and all your Awesome settings will reset.
Notification: We'll notify you via email about the downgrade to the Forever Free plan, but don't worry, you can always upgrade back to the Awesome plan whenever you're ready.
This ensures that you can transition to the Judge.me Awesome plan for your Shopify store, making the most of its features and benefits.
