Displaying Judge.me widgets with automatic default translations
Updated over 3 weeks ago

Easily display Judge.me widgets in multiple languages. When you translate your Shopify store, our system detects the locale and updates your widget language automatically using our default translations in 38 languages.

  • This feature translates widget text like titles, buttons, and review forms. For review content, use our Weglot integration.

  • If you are on the Awesome plan and have customized text alongside our automatic translations, your store's default language will prioritize using your customized texts, while automatic translations will be applied to other translated languages.

  • This feature might not be available for all widget elements such as Reviews Carousel titles, Floating Reviews Tab titles, Verified Reviews Counter, All Reviews Text, and more.

Step 1: Publish translated languages in Shopify

  1. Go to your Shopify Settings > Languages

  2. Click the Add a language button. Choose a language from the drop-down menu, then click Add.

  3. Install a translation app and click Translate. Check Shopify's instructions for more details on setting up a multi-language store.

  4. When you are ready, click the three-dot icon on the right of the language and choose Publish.

  5. We'll translate the Judge.me widgets by detecting the locales of your store languages.

Step 2: Add extra permissions

  1. From your Judge.me admin, go to General Settings > Account.

  2. In the Language section, click on Do you expect to receive reviews in multiple languages?

  3. Check the box Show headers for all widgets in each of your store's languages and click Update app permissions.

For other platforms

  1. Go to Settings > Review Request > Timing and Format > Widget and Email Language.

  2. Click Add extra permission.

Step 3: Check multi-language widgets

After publishing your languages and adding extra permissions, return to the Language setting to view the list of languages into which your widgets will be automatically translated.

Note:

It may take up to 24 hours for your languages to be updated in Judge.me's settings after adding them to Shopify's language settings.

For other platforms

If you're using a Debut theme, you can switch among languages from the languages drop-down menu located in the footer. Other themes and their geolocation apps may have the language menu in different places.
