Available on the Free plan.
Translation Lab helps you localize Judge.me product reviews for global shoppers. Whether you translate manually or use AutoAI, syncing reviews across multiple languages builds trust and drives international sales.
Considerations
Reviews are not synced retroactively unless you click Sync manually.
AutoAI is required for ongoing automatic sync and translation.
Languages must be published and linked to a domain in Shopify, or translations won't be visible.
Only the review text is translated.
Number of languages and translation limits may apply based on your Translation Lab plan.
Step 1: Add and publish a language in Translation Lab
Before translating reviews, your store must have at least one additional published language.
Go to Translation Lab > Languages and click Add language.
Select the language you want to support.
Click Add language.
Click the 3-dots (...) and Publish so it becomes active on your storefront.
Note:
If the language is not published, translations will not be visible to customers. Adding a language in Shopify automatically syncs it with Translation Lab.
Step 2: Link the language to a market or domain
Shopify requires every language to be connected to a market or domain to generate a working storefront URL. Without this, customers can’t access the translated version of your store.
Step 3: Add your Judge.me API key
To allow Translation Lab to access your Judge.me reviews:
In Judge.me > Settings > Integrations, click View API token.
Copy the Public API token.
In Translation Lab > Settings > General, paste your API key.
Click Save at the top.
Go to Translations, locate and click Judge.me at the bottom of the page.
Click Sync to import your reviews.
The Sync action only imports reviews available at that moment. New reviews must be synced again unless you're using AutoAI.
Step 4: Enable AI Translate for each language (optional)
If you want to use Bulk Translate or AutoAI, you must enable AI Translate for your target languages.
Go to Translation Lab > Languages.
Find the language you want to enable.
Click Enable under Enable AI Translation.
You don't need to enable this option if you prefer to translate reviews manually.
Step 5: Translate your reviews
Once your reviews are synced, you can translate them in two ways - manually or using AI Auto-Translate in bulk:
Go to Translation Lab > Translations > Judge.me.
Click Bulk Translate.
Select one or more target languages.
If a language is greyed out, enable AI Translate in T-Lab > Languages (step 4).
Choose whether to translate:
Only not translated reviews
Or all reviews, including already translated ones
Check the Judge.me box and click Translate.
You can translate into multiple languages at once, based on your plan. Only the review content is translated. For widget text labels, see the next step.
Step 6: Translate Judge.me widget text
Judge.me provides built-in translations for widget interface text like:
“Write a review”
“Customer reviews”
“Most recent”
To enable these:
Go to Judge.me > Settings > Languages.
In Widgets and translations, check the box Enable multi-language widgets.
AutoAI: Automatic Sync & Translation (Premium only)
