Translating Judge.me widgets, emails and settings

Updated over a week ago

Make your store's review experience consistent in every language. Learn how to translate Judge.me widgets and emails so your customers always see content in their preferred language.

Display widgets and send emails in your store's default language

If your primary customer base speaks a specific language, setting a default language ensures a more seamless and localized experience for your widgets and emails.

To set your default language:

  • From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Language.

  • Under Widget and notification emails language, choose your preferred language from the dropdown.

  • Click Save.

This update applies immediately to all widget text and notification emails (e.g., reply notifications, coupon emails).

For review request emails, changing the default language only affects new templates created after the change. Existing templates remain in their original language, but you can manually translate them:

  • From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Email templates.

  • Under Review request and reminder emails, click Edit next to the template you want to update.

  • In the Settings tab, click Translate email under the General section to apply Judge.me’s default translation for your selected language.

🟩 Example
If your default language is German, all Judge.me widget text and notification emails will appear in German —unless you’ve added and translated Spanish and French, which will then display based on your customer’s chosen language.

Display Judge.me widgets in multiple languages

If your store has multiple published languages in Shopify, Judge.me automatically detects your customer’s selected language and shows all widget text in that language.

If you're on the Awesome plan, you can fully customize the text in each of your published Shopify languages. These custom translations will override the Judge.me defaults. 👉 Read our guide on customizing Judge.me widgets in multiple languages

Send review request emails in multiple languages

📣 Available on the Awesome Plan — Start your 15-day free trial to start sending review request emails in multiple languages.

If your store has multiple published languages in Shopify, you can automatically send review request and notification emails in the language your customers use to browse your store.

How to enable multi-language emails:

  • In your Shopify admin, make sure each language you want to support is translated and published.

  • From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Language.

  • Scroll to the Emails section.

  • Check the box Enable multi-language emails.

  • Create custom email templates for each language in specific email settings (review requests, reviewer notifications, coupons, and referral emails).

Change the Judge.me admin language

The Judge.me admin interface is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), and German. This setting only affects your logged-in view, not what your customers see.

To change your admin language:

  1. From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Language.

  2. Under Admin language, choose your preferred language from the dropdown.
