How review language sorting works
For stores with one language
For stores with one language
If your store supports one language, once you've enabled language sorting:
We'll automatically detect the language of each review. You can manually update the detected language if needed.
In your Review Widget, reviews will be split into two clear sections:
The top section shows reviews in your store’s default language.
The Reviews in Other Languages section shows all other reviews.
For example, if your store’s default language is English, the Review Widget will show English reviews first. Reviews in Japanese, French, or Spanish will be grouped together under Reviews in Other Languages further down the Review Widget.
For stores with multiple languages
For stores with multiple languages
If your store supports multiple languages, once you've enabled language sorting:
We'll automatically detect the language of each review. You can manually update the detected language if needed.
We'll also detect each visitor’s language.
In your Review Widget, reviews will be split into two clear sections:
The top section shows reviews in your customer's language.
The Reviews in Other Languages section shows all other reviews.
For example, if a customer is browsing the Italian version of your store, the Review Widget will show Italian reviews first. Reviews in Japanese, French, or Spanish will be grouped together under Reviews in Other Languages further down the Review Widget.
Considerations
Language detection may take up to 48 hours to process your reviews.
Country-specific language variations are not supported (e.g., zh-CN for Simplified Chinese, zh-TW for Traditional Chinese, pt-BR for Brazilian Portuguese).
Language sorting does not apply to reviews synced through Product Groups and Cross-Shop Syndication.
