How review sorting works
The way your reviews are arranged depends on whether you run a single-language or multi-language store.
For single-language stores:
Reviews in your store’s default language appear first, followed by reviews in other languages.
In the Review Widget, reviews are grouped into two sections: those in your store's default language and those in other languages.
In the Reviews Carousel, reviews are sorted with those in your store’s default language appearing first, followed by reviews in other languages.
Example scenario:
If your store's default language is English, and you receive reviews in French and German (e.g., syndicated reviews from your international stores), the Review Widget will display English reviews first.
Reviews in French and German will appear in a separate section below, creating a structured and user-friendly review display for all customers.
For multi-language stores:
Judge.me detects the customer’s language and adjusts the widget text (e.g., header, button text, and form fields) accordingly.
Reviews in the customer's language (detected by Judge.me) appear first, followed by reviews in other languages.
In the Review Widget, reviews are grouped into two sections: those in your customer's language and those in other languages.
In the Reviews Carousel, reviews are sorted with those in your customer's language appearing first, followed by reviews in other languages.
Example scenario:
If your store supports multiple languages and a customer browses from Italy, the Review Widget will prioritize displaying Italian reviews first.
Reviews in other available languages will appear in a separate section below, making it easier for customers to find relevant feedback in their preferred language.

Managing reviews by language
Once multilingual review sorting is enabled, you’ll be able to view all your reviews along with the detected language for each one. This makes it easier for you to identify the original language of the reviews.
In the Reviews Dashboard, you can view the original language of each review as detected by our system.
You can filter reviews by language to organize and manage them more efficiently.
Notes:
Language detection may take up to 48 hours to process your reviews.
We do not support country-specific language variations, such as zh-CN (Simplified Chinese - China), zh-TW (Traditional Chinese - Taiwan, Hong Kong), or pt-BR (Portuguese - Brazil).
