Available on the Awesome plan for Shopify

If you have stores in different languages, you can send review request emails in multiple languages. This makes it easier for customers to read your emails and write reviews, helping you collect more feedback.

How to enable multiple language emails

  1. In your Judge.me Admin, go to General Settings > Account.

  2. In the Language section, click on Do you expect to receive reviews in multiple languages?

  3. Check the box Send emails in each of your store's languages.

For other platforms

Go to Settings > Review Requests > Email Templates > Multiple Language Emails.

How to use multiple language emails

Step 1: Set up your multi-language store

Before using multiple language emails, ensure that your online store supports multiple languages. To do this, your online store must meet the following criteria:

  • You must have a third-party language translation app installed.

  • Your theme should be compatible with selling in multiple languages (all free Shopify themes are compatible).

Follow these steps to set up your multi-language store:

  1. Go to your Shopify Settings > Languages

  2. Click the Add a language button. Choose a language from the drop-down menu, then click Add.

  3. Install a translation app and click Translate. Check Shopify's instructions for more details on setting up a multi-language store.

  4. When you are ready, click the three-dot icon on the right of the language and choose Publish.

  5. We'll translate the Judge.me widgets by detecting the locales of your store languages.

Step 2: Create custom email templates

Next, go to Collect Reviews > Email Templates and follow these steps:

  1. Create a Custom Template for each of your shop's supported languages, as configured earlier in the Shopify Admin. For example, if your shop is available in English, French, and Spanish, create three Custom Templates in these languages.

  2. In Template Settings, assign the appropriate Email Language to each Custom Template.

  3. Create a template to be used for Any Language (in case Shopify cannot detect the customer's language).

  4. Activate all the Custom Templates you have created by clicking Set as active.

For other platforms

In your Judge.me admin go to Email Templates > Select New Email Template.

Judge.me will use the locale passed to the checkout to match the email template's language with the customer's language. For instance, if your customers make purchases in your French store, they will receive French emails. In cases where Shopify cannot identify the customers' languages, they will receive Any Language emails. Only active Email Templates will be used.
