Displaying product variant details (size, color, material) in reviews helps your customers find useful feedback and make confident buying decisions. When review request emails include variant details, customers are more likely to leave accurate reviews because they can easily identify the specific item they purchased.
1. Product variants in review request emails
This feature is enabled by default for all users.
When your customers receive a review request email, they’ll see the product variant details and an image of the exact item they purchased. This helps them review the right product and encourages them to leave feedback.
Product variant display is available only in the new email templates that use the Product Reviews block and on the review collection page. The new templates and the review collection page are enabled by default when you install the app.
How variants appear in your email templates
You can preview how a product variant appears in your review request emails by following these steps:
Go to Collect Reviews > Email Templates in your Judge.me admin.
Click Edit next to the email template you want to check.
Under the product name section in the email body, you’ll see the variant information displayed (e.g. S / Black).
How variants appear on the review collection page
The review collection page is a hosted page where customers submit their reviews after clicking on a star rating in your email. It’s enabled by default for all new templates.
To find and preview the review collection page:
In the email template editor, scroll to the Advanced section.
Ensure the Review collection page option is enabled.
Send a sample email to yourself.
Click on the star rating in the email to view the page.

Important notes:
Only Shopify product variants are supported at this time.
Currently, you cannot request separate reviews for different variants in the same order. If a customer purchases multiple variants in one order, the review request email will display only one variant.
2. Product variants in review widgets

How to enable variants in your widgets
From your Shopify admin dashboard, go to Judge.me Reviews app.
From the left navigation, choose Widgets > Review Widget > Customize > Review card details.
In Product details, check the box Show product variants if available.
Click Save.
Note: Once this setting is enabled, it might take a few moments (up to 5 days) to backfill product variant information for historical reviews and display it in the widgets.
How variants appear in your widgets
Once enabled, product variant details are displayed in the Review Wiget on top of each review. This helps future customers confirm that a review applies to the exact size, color, or material they’re considering.
If you have an All Reviews Page set up, variant details are also displayed in each product review below the product name. This ensures shoppers can filter relevant feedback when browsing all the reviews collected by the store.
Example: A customer purchases a blue T-shirt in size M. Their review request email specifies the variant (blue, size M) and includes an image of the exact product. When they submit their review, future customers browsing the product page will clearly see that the feedback applies to the blue, size M variant, helping them make an informed decision.
