Blocklisting customers, products, or orders from receiving review requests

With Judge.me, you have the ability to prevent sending automatic review request emails to certain customers, products, or orders.


Exclude specific emails

Available on the Free plan

To prevent sending review requests to certain email addresses:

  1. From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Request scheduling.

  2. Scroll down to Blocklist and unsubscribed emails.

  3. Click Manage blocklists.

  4. Under the Review requests blocklist section, enter the email addresses you want to exclude.

    • Separate multiple addresses with commas.

    • Use wildcards to block address patterns:

      • *@domain.com blocks all addresses from a domain.

      • no-reply@* blocks all addresses starting with no-reply@.

  5. Click Save.


Exclude specific products

To not send review requests for certain products:

  1. From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Product review groups.

  2. Find the product you want to update.

  3. Click the three-dot icon (⋯) next to the product.

  4. Select "Disable review requests".

Use the "judgeme_excluded" tag

You can add our default tag to your products, orders, or customers to exclude them from receiving emails.

  • From your Shopify Orders / Customers / Products admin, find the relevant order, customer, or product.

  • Under Tags, enter judgeme_excluded and click +Add judgeme_excluded.

  • Click Save.

Use your own tags

If you already mark the customers, products, or orders that you don't want to send review requests to with a specific tag, you can add that tag to Judge.me.

  1. From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Request scheduling.

  2. Scroll down to Blocklist and unsubscribed emails, and click Manage blocklists.

  3. Under the Tag blocklist, add your custom tags.

  4. Click Save.

Removing blocklist tags

To remove blocklist automation, you can either:

  • Remove the tag in Judge.me

  • Or remove the tag from your products, customers, and orders.

When removing blocklist automation by tags for a product, please also change its "Send request" status back to "Active".


Exclude customers who opted out of Shopify emails

Available on the Free plan

This is particularly relevant for businesses operating in regions with stringent regulations governing marketing emails, such as Germany, the United States, the European Union, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and similar jurisdictions.

To prevent sending review requests to customers who opted out of Shopify marketing emails:

  • From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Request scheduling.

  • Scroll down to the Advanced section.

  • Disable "Send review requests to customers who have opted out of Shopify marketing emails".

  • Click Save.
