Sending rules: smart sending, exclusions, and double opt-in

Control how often customers hear from you, which products can be recommended, and how popup sign-ups confirm.

Available on the Free plan

Sending rules control how often you email customers, which products your recommendation flow can use, and how new popup sign-ups confirm.

You'll find them in Settings > Sending rules.

Smart Sending

Smart Sending stops you over-emailing the same person. When it's on, a marketing email is skipped if the customer already received one within your set window.

  1. From your Judge.me Email admin, go to Settings > Sending rules.

  2. Turn on Smart Sending.

  3. Set the Smart Sending window — the minimum hours between marketing emails (1 to 72).

Emails caught by this rule are skipped, not delayed.

Product exclusions

This controls how the product recommendation flow avoids recommending things a customer already bought. Under Product exclusions, choose:

  • Product (any variant) — exclude a product if the customer bought any variant of it.

  • Variant only — exclude only the exact variant they bought.

Double opt-in

With Double opt-in on, new popup sign-ups get a confirmation email and are only subscribed once they confirm. This keeps your list clean, at the cost of an extra step for subscribers.
