Using the Product recommendation flow

The Product recommendation flow cross-sells new products to customers after an order.

Available on the Free plan

The Product recommendation flow cross-sells products a customer hasn't bought yet, a week or two after their order — the moment they're most open to discovering more of your range.

How it works

Trigger: On order placed, for customers who've subscribed to marketing emails. It sends once per order. If a customer places an order but has never subscribed to marketing, they don't get this flow.

Three emails, with these default delays (all editable):

  1. Email 1: sends about 10 days after the order.

  2. Email 2: sends about 3 days after Email 1 (around day 13).

  3. Email 3: sends about 4 days after Email 2 (around day 17).

Products the customer has already bought are excluded. If there are no eligible products to show, that email is skipped rather than sent with an empty space.

Choosing which products to recommend

Recommendations come from a source you choose:

  • Best selling — your top-selling products.

  • Random — a varied selection from your catalog.

  • Customer's last basket — products related to their most recent order. Falls back to your store's recommended products when none are available.

You can also set how products are excluded — by Product (any variant) or Variant only — in Settings > Sending rules under Product exclusions.

Turn on the Product recommendation flow

  2. Open Product recommendation.

  3. Click Activate flow to turn on the flow and any follow-up emails.
