Integrating with Zipchat to collect reviews via AI chat

Learn how to connect Judge.me with Zipchat so your AI chat agent can collect product reviews from shoppers mid-conversation and submit them directly to your store.

Available on the Free plan

Zipchat is an AI chatbot for sales and support that works across live chat, email, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. With the Judge.me and Zipchat integration, your AI agent can collect product reviews from shoppers mid-conversation and submit them directly to Judge.me — no extra steps for the customer.

How it works

Once connected, the Judge.me — Submit a review skill gives your Zipchat AI agent the ability to collect reviews during a conversation:

  1. A shopper tells the AI agent they want to leave a review (e.g. "I'd like to leave a 5-star review").

  2. The AI agent asks the shopper for their star rating and review comment.

  3. Zipchat submits the review to Judge.me using your store's Public API token.

  4. The review appears in your Judge.me dashboard, ready for moderation and display.

The AI agent only triggers the review skill when a customer clearly asks to leave a review — it will not post reviews on its own.

Considerations

  • This integration is developed and maintained by the Zipchat team. While we're happy to guide you where we can, the Zipchat support team will be best equipped to assist you with any questions or issues.

How to set it up

Before you begin

Step 1: Copy your Judge.me API credentials

  1. From your Judge.me admin and go to Settings > Integrations.

  2. Click View API token in the top-right corner.

  3. Copy your Public API token and your shop domain — you will need both in Step 3.

Step 2: Add the Judge.me skill in Zipchat

  1. Open the Zipchat app and go to AI training > Prompt and Skills.

  2. Click Add skill.

  3. Select Judge.me — Submit a review from the list (it is under the Reviews category).

Step 3: Paste your credentials and create the skill

  1. In the skill dialog, fill in the two variables:

    • JUDGEME_SHOP_DOMAIN — your shop domain (e.g. mystore.myshopify.com)

    • JUDGEME_PUBLIC_TOKEN — your Public API token from Step 1

  2. Leave All channels checked so the skill works everywhere, or select specific channels.

  3. Click Create.

Troubleshoot

Reviews are not showing up in Judge.me

Issue:

A shopper submitted a review through the Zipchat AI agent but it does not appear in your Judge.me dashboard.

Why it happens:

This usually means the API credentials entered in the Zipchat skill are incorrect.

How to fix:

Make sure you pasted the Public API token (not the Private one) and that the shop domain is the full .myshopify.com address. Open the skill in AI training > Prompt and Skills and confirm both values are filled in correctly.

The AI agent does not offer to submit a review

Issue:

When a shopper asks to leave a review, the AI agent does not respond with the review collection flow.

Why it happens:

The skill may not be active on the channel being used, or the shopper's message was not clear enough to trigger the skill.

How to fix:

Check the Channels setting on the skill and make sure it covers the channel you are testing. Try using a direct message like "I'd like to leave a 5-star review for [product name]" to test.

Authentication or 401 error

Issue:

You see an authentication error or 401 response when the AI agent tries to submit a review.

Why it happens:

The API token or shop domain has a typo or extra space.

How to fix:

Re-copy both values from View API token in Judge.me and paste them again into the skill's variable fields. Make sure there are no leading or trailing spaces.
