Customer segment review requests help you collect more reviews from shoppers who already know your brand. Instead of entering emails manually or uploading a CSV file, you can target predefined customer segments and send review request emails using Judge.me templates.
You can currently request reviews from customers from the last 12 months in these segments:
Customers who have never left a review
Customers who left a 5-star review
How it works
After you schedule the request, Judge.me finds matching customers from last 12 months.
The selected Audience determines which customers are included:
Customers who have never left a review includes customers from the last 12 months who have not submitted any reviews.
Customers who left a 5-star review includes customers with a fulfilled order in the last 12 months who have submitted a 5-star review on your store.
Each customer receives review requests for only their most recent fulfilled order within the last 12 months — not all of their orders. If a customer placed multiple orders, only the latest one is used.
If you have a set up review request limit in your settings, it also applies here. For example, if your limit is set to once every 7 days, customers who already received a review request within that window are excluded.
The selected Type of review determines which review request is sent:
Product review only
Product review then store review
Store review only
Each request is checked before sending. For example, a request will not be sent if the customer has unsubscribed or the product is excluded from review requests.
Valid requests are scheduled and sent shortly after processing.
A notification is sent when processing is complete.
About 10 minutes after scheduling, you'll receive a report email listing:
Which customers were successfully sent the review request (by name and email)
Which customers were skipped, with the reason (e.g., already contacted in the last 30 days, unsubscribed, product excluded from review requests)
This report is sent to the admin's notification email. There is no campaign history page in the Judge.me admin to view past segment request runs — the report email is the only record of what was sent.
Considerations
Customers who were already contacted in the last 30 days are automatically excluded.
Requests scheduled via customer segments will not trigger a review request event to Klaviyo. The review request emails will be sent with Judge.me templates.
Edits made to the Email subject, Email title, and Email content apply only to the scheduled request. They do not update the original email template.
The Collect reviews for this many products per order setting also applies to segment requests. For example, if this is set to 3, the customer will receive review requests for up to 3 products from that order.
Only Smart Email Templates and the Store Review Fallback Template are available for customer segment requests. Custom Styling templates are not supported in this flow. If the template you expect isn't listed, you may need to create a new Smart Email Template with the same content. Go to Settings > Emails > Email templates > + Add template to create one.
How to request reviews from a customer segment
To request reviews from a customer segment:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Request reviews.
Next to Request reviews from customer segments or lists, click Get started.
In the Customer selection card, select Select customer segment.
In the Customer segment and review type card, select one of the available segments under Audience:
Customers who have never left a review
Customers who left a 5-star review
Select the Type of review you want to collect:
Product review only
Product review then store review
Store review only
In the Email card:
In Template option, select the email template you'd like to use.
(Optional) Select a language from the language dropdown if you have multi-language emails enabled.
(Optional) Customize the Email subject, Email title, and Email content for this batch. These changes apply only to this request — your template is not changed.
(Optional) Click Send sample email to preview the email before scheduling.
Click Schedule request.
Valid review requests are scheduled and sent after 10 minutes.
