Reviews Gallery Grid

Learn how to install and customize the Reviews Grid widget to showcase photo, video, and text reviews anywhere on your store.

Updated yesterday

The Reviews Gallery Grid widget allows you to display reviews in a flexible grid layout, including photo, video, and text reviews. Unlike carousels, this widget shows all eligible reviews and is designed to create a highly visual showcase of user-generated content (UGC).

You can install it on:

  • Home page

  • Landing pages

  • Product pages

  • Collection pages

  • Cart page

  • Any page supported by your theme editor

This helps you turn customer reviews into engaging social proof across your store.

Considerations

  • Reviews without content (no text, title, or media) are automatically excluded.

  • The widget displays all eligible reviews (not limited to 30, as in carousels).

  • This widget is not SEO-focused. It is designed for visual engagement.

  • Product name display is not available in this version.

  • On mobile devices, there is no hover interaction.

  • Text is truncated automatically to prevent layout issues.

  • Multi-language widget title translation is supported.

How it works

  • The widget displays reviews in a grid format (rows and columns).

  • It can show photo, video, and text reviews.

  • Reviews without content (no text, title, or media) are automatically excluded.

  • If a review contains multiple media files, each media item may appear as a separate card.

  • Clicking a review card opens a Lightbox with the full review content.

Customizing the Reviews Gallery Grid widget

The Reviews Gallery Grid widget includes settings inside the Shopify theme editor to customize review selection, layout, display options, and styling.

Review selection

Available on the Free plan.

You can control which reviews appear:

  • Show sample reviews (preview only)

  • Review selection:

    • All

    • Store reviews

    • Current product

    • Current collection

    • Featured (Learn how to feature a review)

    • Custom products (Select up to 10 products to display their reviews)

If you select "Current product" or "Current collection" and add the widget to an incompatible page, an error will appear in the theme editor preview.

2. Only show reviews with media

Available on the Free plan.

Turn this setting on to display only reviews that include photos or videos.

  • When enabled: reviews are sorted by most recent first.

  • When disabled: all reviews are shown, and you can control display order.

3. Display order

Available on the Free plan.

Available when “Only show reviews with media” is disabled:

  • Most recent – Shows all reviews in chronological order.

  • Media first – Shows reviews with media first, followed by text-only reviews.

4. Layout settings

You can control what appears on each review card:

  • Show stars (toggle)
