Unlock automatic review reminders to follow up with customers and collect more reviews with a 15-day free trial.
Review request reminders are follow-up emails we send when a customer hasn't submitted a review after the initial request. They help increase response rates and boost conversions with minimal effort.
How it works
Here’s how review reminders are sent once enabled:
Your customer places an order.
We wait for the configured delay, then send the initial review request(s). The number and timing follow your review request settings.
We wait for the configured delay. The wait starts once all initial requests for the order have been sent.
We check the customer's engagement. When the first reminder is ready to go out, we check whether they opened (or clicked) the initial request and whether they've submitted a review.
Then, one of the following happens:
If the customer already submitted a review, no reminders are sent.
If the customer opened or clicked the request but didn't submit a review, we send the reminder.
If the customer didn't open or click the request:
On the legacy flow, we skip the reminder. Once it's skipped, it won't be sent later, even if the customer opens the initial request afterward.
On the new flow (available for stores in the Early user program), you can choose whether to skip the reminder (default) or send it anyway.
We send one email covering all unreviewed products. The reminder contains all the products in the order the customer hasn't reviewed yet — even if the initial requests were sent as separate emails per product.
We repeat up to 2 more times. After sending the first reminder, we wait for the configured delay and check whether to send the next one — for a total of 3 reminders per order.
Sender email addresses
The exact sender address for your review request reminders depends on which reminder is being sent and whether you have a custom sender set up.
Reminder | Default sender (Judge.me) | Custom sender (if verified) |
1st reminder | Send from: requests+yourstore@judge.me
Reply to: Your admin notification email | Send from: Your custom sender email

2nd and 3rd reminders | Send from: requests+yourstore@judgeme.email
Reply to: Your admin notification email | Send from: requests+yourstore@judgeme.email
Reply to: requests+yourstore@judgeme.email |
Sample (test) reminders | Send from: requests+yourstore@judge.me

Review request reminder flows
We have 2 versions of review request reminders. Depending on whether you're on the Early user program, you'll see one of two layouts in your Judge.me admin:
Legacy flow — what most stores have today.
New flow — available for stores in our Early user program, with more granular controls per order type.

New review request reminder flow
The new review request reminder flow is rolling out first to stores in our Early user program — if your store isn't enrolled, you won't see these settings yet.

1. Add a reminder
Available on the Awesome plan
You can configure each order type independently — for example, 2 reminders for domestic orders with different delays each, and no reminders for international orders.
If you send more than 1 reminder per order, the 2nd and 3rd reminders are more likely to be flagged as spam. To maintain good deliverability and avoid overwhelming your customers, we recommend limiting the number of reminders to 1.
To enable automatic review request reminders and set timing for each order type:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Request scheduling.
In the Timing section at the top, open the order type you want to configure:
Domestic orders
International orders
Point of sale (POS) orders
Custom product timing (if any)
Scroll down to the Reminders section.
Click + Add reminder. You can add up to 3 reminders.
For each reminder you want to send, set the Delay value.
Then, choose a delay unit:
Days (Between 1 and 10 days)
Hours (Between 12 and 24 hours)
(Optional) Click the checkbox next to Send reminders to customers who haven't opened the initial review request email to follow up even when the initial email wasn't opened.
Click Save.
Note:
These changes apply to new review requests scheduled after you save your settings. Existing requests won't be updated.
2. Remove a reminder
Available on the Awesome plan
To remove a reminder for an order type:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Request scheduling.
In the Timing section at the top, open the order type you want to configure:
Domestic orders
International orders
Point of sale (POS) orders
Custom product timing (if any)
Scroll down to the Reminders section.
Click Remove next to that reminder's delay field.
Click Save.
Note:
This change apply to new review requests scheduled after you save your settings. Existing requests won't be updated.

If you send more than 1 reminder per order, the 2nd and 3rd reminders are more likely to be flagged as spam. To maintain good deliverability and avoid overwhelming your customers, we recommend limiting the number of reminders to 1.
3. Adjust the reminder timing
Available on the Awesome plan
On the legacy flow, reminder timing is controlled by the Follow-up requests and reminders are sent after setting — the same field that controls spacing between request emails in multi-product orders (when you send a separate email per product).
To change this delay:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Request scheduling.
For each order type — Domestic Orders, International orders, Point of sale (POS) orders — set the Follow-up requests and reminders are sent after value (in days).
Click Save.
Note:
This change apply to new review requests scheduled after you save your settings. Existing requests won't be updated.
Customize the reminder emails (Smart styling templates)
If you're using a Smart styling template, each reminder has its own template — Reminder 1, Reminder 2, and Reminder 3 can be edited independently. For each reminder template, you can customize:
Write a review settings: type of review and review trigger
Default texts:
Email subject and preheader text
Email title, email content, and Write a review button text
Language and tone of voice
Add-ons: product recommendations, negative review resolution
Global styling — such as your logo, brand colors, and shared design elements — applies across all templates and is managed separately. See Personalizing your email templates with email styling to set those.

(Optional) When you select Stars, you can click the checkbox next to Show stars help text to show a helper line beneath the stars in your email.
Click Save.
Note:
The In email form option (which embeds the review form directly in the email) is available for initial review requests but not for reminders.
