QR codes are ideal for:
Parcel inserts: Include a QR code on packaging inserts or shipping labels so customers can scan right after unboxing.
In-store displays: Place printed QR codes near checkout counters or fitting rooms so customers can review their in-store experience while it's fresh.
Handouts: Provide business cards or flyers with a QR code during events, trade shows, or pop-up markets to encourage follow-up reviews.
Types of QR codes and how they work
QR code for a specific product
QR code for a specific product
Here’s how a QR code for a specific product works:
You share or display the QR code for a specific product.
The customer scans the QR code and is taken to the review flow for that product.
The review flow follows your store’s Collection flow settings, including:
your review confirmation setting
your redirect setting
your review form styling and flow preferences
Depending on your verification setting, one of these flows can happen:
the customer confirms their email before submitting a review
the customer submits the review first and confirms their email afterward
the customer submits the review without email confirmation if confirmation is disabled
Once submitted, the review appears in your Reviews Dashboard with the source marked as QR code or the equivalent review source used for the QR-code flow.
If the customer’s email is confirmed and matches an order, the review can be verified automatically.
QR code for all products
QR code for all products
Here’s how a QR code for all products works:
You share or display the QR code.
The customer scans the QR code and is taken to the review flow based on your store’s Collection flow settings.
Depending on your verification setting:
if confirmation happens before review submission, the customer confirms their email first and can then see suggested products based on past purchases, if available
if confirmation happens after review submission, the customer can search for a product or write a store review first, then confirm their email afterward
if confirmation is disabled, the customer can submit a review without receiving a confirmation email
If the customer’s email is confirmed and matches an order, the review can be verified automatically.
