The Smile integration lets Smile give customers points for their reviews. It gives customers a reason to write a review.
How the Smile integration works
Here's how a review earns points in Smile:
A customer leaves a review.
Judge.me checks the review against 2 of your reward settings in Judge.me: Who can receive coupons and Which reviews trigger a discount. The review doesn't need to be published.
If the review qualifies, Judge.me sends Smile the customer's email through the Smile API, and Smile adds the points set in your matching Judge.me earning rule. If no Smile customer has that email, no points are added.
Each review earns points once, even when a customer reviews several products from the same order.
Considerations
Before you set up the Smile integration, review the following considerations:
This integration is available on the Judge.me Reviews Awesome plan and any paid Smile plan.
Judge.me coupons aren't generated while Smile is enabled.
The coupon banner in Smart styling review request emails promotes Judge.me-generated coupons only. While Smile is enabled, turn off Show coupon in smart review request emails on the Coupons page. To tell customers they can earn Smile points, add that to your review request email text.
Judge.me doesn't send an API request for imported and synced reviews.
Set up the Smile integration
Step 1: Enable Smile in Judge.me
To enable Smile in Judge.me:
From your Judge.me Reviews app, go to Settings > Integrations > Smile.io.
Click Connect.
Optional: To give different points for photo and video reviews, check Flexible review rewards. The setting saves as soon as you check it.
Step 2: Connect Judge.me to Smile
To connect Judge.me to Smile:
Step 3: Create the review earning rules in Smile
Judge.me sends each qualifying review to Smile once, as one of 3 activities, and Smile adds the points set in the matching earning rule:
Flexible review rewards unchecked (default): every review is sent as Write a Product Review.
Flexible review rewards checked: each review is sent as the activity that matches it:
Write a Product Review: a review with no photo or video
Leave a Photo Review: a review that includes at least one photo (no video)
Leave a Video Review: a review that includes a video
With the setting checked, Judge.me waits up to 5 minutes before sending a review without a video, so a video that's still uploading counts.
To create the review earning rules in Smile:
From your Smile app, go to Program > Points.
Click Add ways to earn.
In the Smile Apps section, click Write a Product Review.
In the Earning value field, enter the number of points, for example 50.
Click Create.
Optional: Repeat steps 2–5 for Leave a Photo Review and Leave a Video Review (available only when Flexible review rewards is checked).
Disable the Smile integration
To disable the Smile integration:
From your Judge.me Reviews app, go to Settings > Integrations > Smile.io.
Click Disconnect.
After you disable Smile in Judge.me, new reviews no longer earn points. If Judge.me coupons are enabled, Judge.me starts sending them again with your current coupon settings.
