Sign in with Shop lets your customers use their Shop account to sign in when writing a review or asking a question. Instead of manually entering their name and email, customers sign in with one click — and if they've purchased the product, their review is automatically marked as a verified buyer review.
How it works
When a customer clicks Write a review or Ask a question on your store, they see two options:
Continue with Shop — signs them in using their Shop account
Continue without signing in — fills in the review form manually, like before
If the customer chooses to sign in with Shop:
They authenticate with their Shop account.
Their name and email are verified server-side — they don't need to type them in.
If the email matches an order on your store for that product, the review is automatically marked as a verified buyer review. No confirmation email needed.
If the customer hasn't purchased the product from your store, their review is still submitted with their verified identity — it just won't receive the verified buyer badge.
The options only appear once per page load. If a customer signs in with Shop and then writes a second review on the same page, they stay signed in without being prompted again.
Considerations
The feature uses Shopify's Shop SDK. Customers need a Shop account to use it.
Customers can always choose to continue without signing in — the manual review form works exactly as before.
Verified buyer status is only granted when the customer's Shop account email matches an order containing the reviewed product on your store. Signing in alone doesn't make a review "verified."
If a customer signs in with Shop and has previously submitted a review for the same product with the same email, their new submission updates the existing review rather than creating a new one to avoid duplication.
How to set it up
From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Widgets.
Find the Review Widget card, and click Customize.
Scroll down and open the Widget header section.
Under Sign in with Shop, click the checkbox next to Show the Sign in with Shop.
Click Save.
When enabled, this setting also applies to the Ask a question form and the Happy Customers widget.
