Integrating with Privy to Engage Reviewers with Automated Messaging

Learn how to integrate Judge.me with Privy to trigger automated emails and texts based on review events.

Available on the Free plan

Privy is an ecommerce marketing platform that helps merchants grow their email and SMS lists, send targeted campaigns, and automate customer messaging.

The Privy integration with Judge.me allows merchants to automatically follow up with reviewers using personalized emails and texts. Trigger Flows based on review events, split messaging based on review properties like rating or verification status, and segment contacts using reviewer tags.

How it works

  1. A customer submits or updates a review on your store through Judge.me.

  2. Judge.me sends a webhook event to Privy in real time.

  3. Privy matches the reviewer to an existing contact or creates a new one, syncing reviewer tags to the contact’s profile.

  4. If a Flow is configured for that event, Privy triggers the Flow and evaluates any conditions (e.g., rating, verified purchase status).

  5. The merchant’s configured actions run automatically: sending emails, texts, applying time delays, or splitting into different paths based on review properties.

Product reviews and store reviews have separate event types, so merchants can tailor their messaging to each.

Considerations

  • This integration requires a paid Privy plan. Judge.me Free or Awesome plan works with this integration.

  • If you have questions about the Privy side of the integration, contact support@privy.com.

How to set it up

Before you begin

Make sure you have an active Privy account. You’ll need access to Settings > Integrations in your Privy dashboard.

Step 1: Connect Judge.me to Privy

  1. Log in to your Privy account at dashboard.privy.com.

  2. Navigate to Settings in the lower left corner of your dashboard.

  3. Open the Integrations page from the left side menu, then locate Judge.me and click to open its settings. Or go directly to the Judge.me integration settings page.

  4. Click Connect.

  5. You will be redirected to Judge.me to authorize the connection. Click Authorize to continue.

  6. You’ll be returned to Privy and the integration will show as connected.

Once connected, Privy will automatically register webhooks and begin receiving review events. No further setup is needed in Judge.me.

Step 2: Create a Flow triggered by a review event

  1. Navigate to Flows from your Privy dashboard.

  2. Click Create Flow in the upper right corner.

  3. Select Integration Event and click Customize Flow.

  4. In the Flow builder, click the dropdown under Integration Event.

  5. Select Judge.me and choose an event: Product Review Created, Product Review Updated, Store Review Created, or Store Review Updated.

  6. Add your desired actions (emails, texts, time delays, splits).

  7. To branch logic based on review properties, add a Split node and select a condition such as Rating is greater than 3.

Troubleshoot

Integration not showing as connected after authorizing

  1. Try disconnecting and reconnecting from Settings > Integrations in Privy.

  2. Ensure you are logged in to the correct Privy account before authorizing.

Flow not triggering on new reviews

  1. Verify that a Flow is active and configured with a Judge.me trigger event.

  2. Check that the review event type (product vs. store) matches the trigger you selected.

Reviewer tags not appearing on contacts

Tags sync when the integration is first connected and when new review events are received. Try disconnecting and reconnecting to trigger a fresh sync.
