The AI Reviews Summary Widget is a standalone widget that lets you display an AI-generated summary of your customer reviews.
It highlights overall sentiment and shows your average rating and total review count, helping shoppers quickly understand your store’s reputation without reading individual reviews.
You can add this widget to any page of your store using the Shopify theme editor, including your homepage, landing pages, or content pages.
How it looks
The AI Reviews Summary Widget typically includes these key visual elements by default:
The title, which consists of:
The Customers rate this store header
Your store's average rating
Your store's total number of reviews
A green verified badge, followed by the Verified text
The main AI-generated review summary paragraph
If enabled, the keywords with sentiment (e.g., Price 👍, Quality 👍, Delivery 👎) visually show what customers like or dislike.
The AI-powered review summary based on recent customer reviews disclaimer text
If enabled, the View customer reviews button

How it works
Here's how the AI Reviews Summary Widget works:
Once your store has more than 5 published text reviews, AI will analyze up to 500 of the most recent published product and store reviews.
AI then creates:
A short summary highlighting common themes or sentiments from those reviews.
A list of keywords that represent frequently mentioned topics.
The summary and keywords are refreshed automatically every 30 days.
Considerations
The AI Reviews Summary Widget reflects overall store feedback, which includes both product and store reviews, not individual products. To generate a separate summary for each individual product, you can enable the AI product review summary in the Review Widget (new version) instead.
The AI summary and sentiment keywords cannot be edited.
The AI-powered review summary based on recent customer reviews disclaimer text is a system label and cannot be edited or customized.
The rating value and review count are added automatically and can’t be edited.
Text customization applies to your primary language. Other languages are translated automatically.
Add the AI Review Summary Widget
Step 1: Enable Judge.me app embed
To enable Judge.me app embed:
From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
Find the theme you want to edit and click Edit theme.
From the menu on the left, click the App embeds icon (the third icon).
Enable the Judge.me app embed.
Click Save on the top right.
Step 2: Add the AI Reviews Summary Widget block
To install the AI Reviews Summary Widget in Shopify theme editor:
From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
Find the theme you want to edit and click Edit theme.
At the top of the theme editor, open the template dropdown in the middle.
Select a template where you want to show the AI Reviews Summary Widget.
On the left panel, inside Template, click (+) Add section.
Go to the Apps tab.
Select the AI Reviews Summary (Paid) block.
(Optional) Hover over the block, hold the 6-dot icon (⋮⋮), and drag it up or down to change its position.
Click Save on the top right.
Customize the AI Review Summary Widget with built-in settings
To access all settings for the AI Review Summary Widget in Shopify theme editor:
From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
Find the theme you want to edit and click Edit theme.
At the top of the theme editor, open the template dropdown in the middle.
Select the template where you added the AI Review Summary Widget.
On the left panel, inside Template, find the AI Reviews Summary (Paid) block you added.
Click the block to open its settings.
Once opened, you can customize the theme, styling, and header text of that specific AI Review Summary Widget block.
1. Preview data
You can still enable sample data to see how the AI Review Summary Widget looks in the preview of your Shopify Theme Editor. This setting does not affect the live storefront.
To show sample reviews for the Cards Carousel in your Shopify Theme Editor:
Go to the AI Review Summary Widget settings.
At the top of the page, switch between:
Sample data: Preview how the widget looks with example content
Real data: Preview your actual AI review summary
Click Save on the top right.
2. Theme
Expanded theme
With the Expanded theme, the AI summary is fully visible on the page. If enabled, the sentiment keywords and the View customer reviews button are all displayed by default.
To use the Expanded theme for the AI Review Summary Widget:
Go to the AI Review Summary Widget settings.
Open the Theme dropdown.
Select Expanded.
Then, to show or hide the sentiment keywords, enable Show keywords with sentiment.
To show or hide the View customer reviews button, enable Show action button.
Click Save on the top right.
Accordion theme
With the Accordion theme, the AI summary appears as a collapsible tab. Only the first 2 lines of the summary are shown initially, and customers can click to expand and view the full content. The sentiment keywords and the View customer reviews button (if enabled) can appear either inside or outside the accordion, depending on your settings.
To use the Accordion theme for the AI Review Summary Widget:
Go to the AI Review Summary Widget settings.
Open the Theme dropdown.
Select Accordion.
Then, to show or hide the sentiment keywords:
Open the Keywords with sentiment dropdown.
Select one of the following options:
Shown – The sentiment keywords are always visible on the page.
When click – The sentiment keywords are only displayed after customers click to expand the summary.
Hidden – The sentiment keywords are not displayed.
To show or hide the View customer reviews button:
Open the Action button dropdown.
Select one of the following options:
Shown – The button is always visible on the page.
When click – The button is only displayed after customers click to expand the summary.
Hidden – The button is not displayed.
Click Save on the top right.
Button theme
With the Button theme, only the See AI reviews summary button is shown on the page. When clicked, the full AI summary, the sentiment keywords and the View customer reviews button (if enabled) appear in a pop-up.
To use the Button theme for the AI Review Summary Widget:
Go to the AI Review Summary Widget settings.
Open the Theme dropdown.
Select Button.
Then, use the color picker or enter a hex code to define your own colors for these elements:
Button theme color – To change the background color of the See AI reviews summary button
Button theme text color – To change the text color of the See AI reviews summary button
To show or hide the sentiment keywords, enable Show keywords with sentiment.
To show or hide the View customer reviews button, enable Show action button.
To change the See AI reviews summary button text:
Scroll down to the TEXT section at the bottom.
In the Button field, edit the default "See AI reviews summary" texts.
Click Save on the top right.
3. Styling
Alignment
To change the text alignment of the AI Review Summary Widget:
Go to the AI Review Summary Widget settings.
Scroll down to the STYLING section.
For Alignment, switch between Left and Center.
Click Save on the top right.
Text size
To control the font size for the title and texts in the AI Review Summary Widget:
Go to the AI Review Summary Widget settings.
Scroll down to the STYLING section.
To adjust the font size of the Customers rate this store header:
Open the Title size dropdown.
Select one of the following options: Default, Large, Extra large.
To adjust the text size:
Open the Title size dropdown.
Select one of the following options: Default, Large, Extra large.
Click Save on the top right.
Corner styling
To choose the corner style for the AI Review Summary Widget:
Go to the AI Review Summary Widget settings.
Scroll down to the STYLING section.
Open the Corner styling dropdown.
Select one of the following options: Square, Soft, Round, Extra round.
Click Save on the top right.
Colors
To customize the colors used in the AI Review Summary Widget:
Go to the AI Review Summary Widget settings.
Scroll down to the STYLING section.
Use the color picker or enter a hex code to define your own colors for these elements:
Widget color
Text color
Lighter text color
Button color
Button text color
Click Save on the top right.
Sentiment icon colors
By default, the sentiment icons (thumbs up/down markers) are color-coded to reflect customer sentiment:
Positive icons appear in green.
Negative icons appear in red.
If you prefer a more minimal look, you can enable the one-tone color option.
When enabled, all sentiment icons will appear in the same neutral color, regardless of whether they are positive or negative.
To show the sentiment icons in a one-tone color:
Go to the AI Review Summary Widget settings.
Scroll down to the STYLING section.
Enable Show sentiment markers in lighter text.
Click Save on the top right.
Maximum width
To limit how wide the AI Review Summary Widget appears on the page:
Go to the AI Review Summary Widget settings.
Scroll down to the STYLING section.
Adjust the Maximum width using the slider or by entering a pixel value (300 to 1200px).
Click Save on the top right.
4. Text
To adjust the Customers rate this store header text in the AI Review Summary Widget:
Go to the AI Review Summary Widget settings.
Scroll down to the TEXT section at the bottom.
In the Heading field, edit the default "Customers rate this store" texts.
Click Save on the top right.
