Troubleshoot

My product image is showing very large in the email template

If you're seeing large product images in the email templates, it's likely because you're viewing the email in Microsoft Outlook.

Some email clients (such as Outlook) may strip styling from emails. When this happens, your emails will appear in a simplified format, regardless of the customizations you’ve made (e.g. logo and product images may appear at their default size — sometimes very large — and links will show as blue underlined text).

Unfortunately, at the moment, there is no fix for this, as the stripping is done on the email clients side. However, the majority of customers use Gmail and other modern email clients, where your styling and branding will display as intended.

I can't change the colors in the review request email template

If you try to customize the colors in your review request email template but the changes don’t apply after saving, check if you're using the Legacy styling template:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Judge.me Reviews > Settings.

  2. Go to Email templates.

  3. Under Review request and reminder emails, check if the Legacy styling template is set to "On".

If you're using a Legal styling template, this is the cause of the issue. These templates have a known issue where color changes are not reflected when saved.

We recommend creating a new Smart styling template and using that one instead. With a smart styling template, your review request emails will use the same colors and global design elements as all your other email templates.

My logo is showing very small in mobile

If your logo appears small when viewing in a mobile device, check the width and length of your logo picture.

All email templates displays the store logo at a fixed Medium width (150px by default). If your logo is a wide, horizontal wordmark (e.g. logo icon + long brand name), that 150px width gets “spread out” across the full length of the artwork—so the visible height becomes small, even though the logo is technically displayed correctly.

In this case, you can either:

  1. Use the built-in setting to change the display size of your logo (available on the Awesome plan).

  2. Or, if you’d rather not upgrade, the workaround is to upload a more compact version of your logo so it naturally appears larger within the same 150px width. Common approaches that work well:

    • Stacked logo: icon above the brand name (taller shape → looks bigger at 150px)

    • Icon-only: use just the emblem mark for the header (often the clearest at small sizes)
