Install the Review Widget

Step 1: Enable Judge.me app embed
In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
Find the theme you want to edit and click Customize.
Navigate to App embeds and enable Judge.me.
Click Save.
Step 2: Add the Review Widget
Click Add section > Apps > Review Widget.
Drag the block to adjust its position.
Click Save.
Customize the Review Widget
All customization options can be accessed from Widgets > Review Widget > Customize in your Judge.me settings.
You can tailor everything from colors, layout, and text labels to reviewer details, engagement features, and more — all without code.
Hiding the review date
To hide the date from your reviews:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widget > Review Widget > Customize
In Theme, disable "Show review date".
Click Save.
Customizing colors
You can fully customize the color scheme of your Review Widget to match your brand identity by going to Widgets > Review Widget > Colors.
Basic color customizations
Option | What it means |
Primary color | Change color of the stars, buttons, and links on all widgets and emails |
Star color | Change only color of the stars in the Review Widget |
Secondary color | Change color of reply backgrounds, dividers and other secondary elements |
Advanced color customizations
Option | What it means |
Review filter color | Change color of the rating filters |
"Write a review" text color | Change text color of the "Write a review" button |
"Write a review" background color | Change background color of the "Write a review" button |
Reviewer name text color | Change color of the reviewer name |
Verified buyer badge text color | Change text color of the Verified badge |
Verified buyer badge background color | Change background color of the Verified badge |
Pagination color | Change text color for the pagination |
Setting the default sorting method
To choose how reviews are sorted by default:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Review Widget > Customize.
In Search and pagination > Default sorting method, choose from these options:
Option | What it means |
Most Recent | Newest reviews will show first |
Highest Rating | Reviews with the highest ratings will show first |
Lowest Rating | Reviews with the lowest ratings will show first |
Only Pictures | Only reviews that contain images will show |
Pictures First | Reviews with images will show first |
Videos First | Reviews with videos will show first |
Most Helpful | Reviews with most thumb ups will show first |
Click Save.
Choosing how reviewer names are displayed
To customize how reviewer names appear:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Widgets > Review Widget > Customize.
In Review card details > Reviewer name format, choose from these options:
Option | What it means |
Show full name | Reviewer names will show as "John Smith" |
Shorten last name | Reviewer names will show as "John S." |
First name only | Reviewer names will show as "J. Smith" |
Initials | Reviewer names will show as "J. S." |
Anonymous | All reviewer names will as "Anonymous" |
Click Save.

Show collected by Judge.me beneath the widget header | Enable or disable this option to show or hide the "Collected by Judge.me" link beneath the widget header. |
Show review collection policy information | Enable or disable this option to show or hide the "How reviews are collected" link in the Review Widget. |

Collect reviews with the Review Widget
In addition to sending review request emails, you can collect reviews directly on your product pages using the Review Widget.
When a customer submits a review via the Review Widget:
They’ll receive a confirmation email to verify their review.
The review is marked as verified if:
Judge.me detects a fulfilled order tied to the reviewer.
The reviewer confirms by clicking the link in the confirmation email.
Manage how reviews are displayed
You have full control over how reviews appear on your widget. To adjust moderation settings, go to Manage Reviews > Moderation in your Judge.me admin. For full details, see our review publishing guide.

Auto-publish | Automatically publish new reviews as they come in. |
Rating for auto-publish | Only auto-publish reviews with a rating in your chosen criteria. |
Web reviews | Enable or disable the option for customers to submit reviews directly via the Review Widget. |
Spam filter | Automatically block spammy reviews. |
Censor PII | Hide personal identifiable information in submitted reviews. |
Profanity filter | Block reviews containing inappropriate or offensive language. |
