Manually adding review requests in batch

Updated over a week ago

Available on the Free plan.

If you have orders made outside of your e-commerce platform (e.g., POS sales, WhatsApp orders), you can manually request reviews by uploading a CSV file to Judge.me. This guide walks you through creating, uploading, and reviewing manual review requests.

How it works

Here’s a quick look at what happens when review requests are added in bulk manually:

  1. You prepare and upload your CSV file of requests. The successfully uploaded requests will show in the Requests dashboard with a Manual label.

  2. We check if the request is valid (e.g., the customer hasn’t unsubscribed, the product is not excluded) and update its status accordingly.

    • If the request is valid, it will appear in the Requests dashboard as "Will send".

    • If the request is not valid, it will be skipped.

  3. For valid requests, the review request email will be sent based on the processed_at and fulfilled_at values in your file.

Considerations

  • Each row in your CSV (e.g. each review request) results in 1 email. If your file includes multiple requests for the same order (e.g. one per product), each request will send its own email, regardless of your Multi products email setting.

  • Requests scheduled manually will not trigger a review request event to Klaviyo. The review request email will be sent with Judge.me templates.

Steps to add review requests manually

Step 1: Prepare the CSV file

  1. Open our CSV Template.

  2. Click Make a copy to create your own editable version.

  3. Each row in the CSV represents 1 review request. Here's how to fill out the columns:

Column

Required?

Description

reviewer_name

Yes

Name of the customer (We only use this if there's no name associated with the email)

reviewer_email

Yes

The customer's email address

product_id or product_handle

Yes (one of them)

fulfilled_at

Yes

The date the order was fulfilled (format: dd/mm/yyyy).

quantity

No

Defaults to 1 if left blank.

processed_at

No

The date to send the request.

  • If left blank, we'll use fulfilled_at + your wait time setting.

  • If the date is in the past, the request will be sent 10 minutes after the upload.

Step 2: Upload the file to Judge.me

  1. From your Google Sheet file, go to File > Download > Comma Separated Values (.csv) to download the CSV file.

  2. From your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Request reviews.

  3. In the Send manual requests section, click Multiple requests.

  4. In the Schedule requests in batch pop-up, upload the CSV file you just downloaded.

  5. Click Schedule requests.

Step 3: Check the results

After uploading:

  • You’ll receive a confirmation email with a summary of the scheduled requests.

  • You can view the requests in the Reviews > Review requests tab, labeled as "Manual".

  • You can cancel requests by clicking on the three-dot icon and selecting Skip this request.
