🔐 Unlock the spam filter to automatically block spammy reviews and questions with a 15-day free trial of the Judge.me Awesome plan.
The spam filter helps you protect your store from low-quality or malicious content by automatically flagging suspicious reviews and questions. This allows you to collect web reviews freely—without worrying about bots, spam, or competitor attacks.
In this article, we’ll show you how to enable the Spam Filter and manage spam reviews and questions flagged by our system.
How the spam filter works
The spam filter automatically flags suspicious reviews and questions submitted through the following channels:
Write-a-review forms on your product pages
Ask-a-question forms on your product pages
API requests that may contain spam content
Flagged submissions are moved to a separate Spam tab, so they don’t appear on your store unless manually approved.
Note: One way to avoid spam reviews entirely is to restrict the option to submit reviews via a web form. This will hide the “Write a Review” button from the Review Widget.
Enable the spam filter
To activate the spam filter:
From your Judge.me admin, go to Manage Reviews > Moderation tab.
Navigate to Review restriction > Spam filter.
Choose Filter out spam reviews and questions.
Manage potential spam reviews and questions
All reviews and questions marked as spam will appear in the Spam tab in the Reviews and Questions dashboards.
If legitimate content is incorrectly flagged:
Open the Spam tab.
Click Not Spam on the review or question you want to keep.
The item will be moved back to your main dashboard.
