We're rolling this out gradually, so you may not see it in your store yet.
The Browse abandoned flow emails a customer who looked at a product in your store and left without adding it to their cart. It reaches customers earlier than the Abandoned cart flow, which only covers customers who added to their cart.
How the Browse abandoned flow works
The Browse abandoned flow sends one email, Browse reminder, to a customer who views a product and leaves.
Here is how the flow runs:
What starts the flow: A customer you know by email views a product in your store and leaves.
When the email sends: 4 hours after the customer's last product view. You can change the wait. If the customer views another product before the email sends, the wait starts again.
What the email shows: The product the customer viewed last, then other products they viewed in the last 7 days, newest first. Each product card links to that product.
Which products are left out: Products that are sold out, unpublished or deleted.
What fills the rest: If the customer viewed fewer products than the email has room for, we fill it with recommendations from your store.
When the email is skipped: When it is due, the customer has added a product to their cart, started a checkout or placed an order, or the product they viewed last is no longer for sale.
How product-view tracking works
To know which products a customer viewed, the Browse abandoned flow uses the same small tracker (a Shopify web pixel) as the Abandoned cart flow.
Here is how the tracker works:
When it is added: We add it to your storefront when you enable either the Abandoned cart flow or the Browse abandoned flow.
When it is removed: We remove it only after you disable both flows.
Who is tracked: Only customers you already know by email. A customer is linked to their browser when they sign up through your Judge.me Email sign-up popup, or ask to be notified when a product is back in stock. Anonymous browsing is never recorded.
Cookie consent: The tracker only runs for customers who accepted both analytics and marketing cookies in your cookie banner.
Subscribed customers only: We only save product views for customers who are subscribed to email marketing.
One browser, one customer: A product viewed on another device or browser is counted separately.
How long views are kept: We delete product views after 90 days. When a customer asks to be deleted, their views are deleted too.
You can see the tracker in your Shopify admin under Settings > Customer events.
Considerations
These limits apply to the Browse abandoned flow:
The sign-up popup matters. The flow can only email customers who gave you their email address, and most do it through the popup. If your popup app embed is off, very few customers can be emailed.
Cookie consent limits reach. Where your store asks for cookie consent, only customers who accept analytics and marketing cookies are tracked. If your store requires consent but shows no cookie banner, nobody in that region is tracked.
Signing in or reaching checkout doesn't identify a customer. Only the sign-up popup and back-in-stock requests do.
A back-in-stock request alone doesn't save views. The customer's views are only saved if they are also subscribed to email marketing, for example by checking the newsletter box.
One browse email per customer per day. A customer can't start a new browse session for 24 hours after the last one, even after viewing another product. A customer who still has a cart email on the way doesn't start one either.
Old views aren't used. Views from before you enable the flow never count. After you enable the flow again, nothing sends for the first few hours.
The flow sends one email.
The email counts toward your sending allowance. Sends from this flow count toward your monthly sends like any other email.
Other flows take over when the customer moves on. If a customer adds a product to their cart, the browse email is skipped and the Abandoned cart flow takes over. Once they start a checkout, the Abandoned checkout flow takes over.
Shopify can send its own browse email. If Shopify Messaging sends its own abandoned browse email, turn it off so customers don't get two. Step 5 below shows how.

On the Browse abandoned flow page, click Enable app embed.
In your Shopify theme editor, turn on the app embed toggle.

Click Browse abandoned.

From your Judge.me Email app, go to Flows.
Click Browse abandoned.
Click the Browse reminder email.
You can edit the subject, text and product cards like in any flow email. To learn how, see Using the email template editor.

Choose who enters the flow
To choose which customers enter the Browse abandoned flow:
From your Judge.me Email app, go to Flows.
Click Browse abandoned.
Click Add filters.
In the Entry filters section, add the filters you want.
You can filter by any of the following:

Troubleshoot
A customer viewed a product but got no email
A customer viewed a product but got no email
Issue:
A customer viewed a product in your store, and the Browse abandoned flow didn't send them an email.
Why it happens:
The customer may not be identified, may not have accepted analytics and marketing cookies, or may not be subscribed. They may also have had a browse email in the last 24 hours, or have a cart email on the way. Views from before you enabled the flow never count.
How to fix:
Check each of these in turn. Make sure your sign-up popup is showing, since it is how most customers are identified.
An email shows "skipped" in the flow's report
An email shows "skipped" in the flow's report
Issue:
A Browse reminder email shows as skipped.
Why it happens:
The reason shows next to it:
Order placed, Checkout started or Added to cart: The customer moved on.
Product unavailable: The product they viewed last was deleted, unpublished or sold out.
Didn't match entry filters: The customer didn't match your entry filters.
Matched an exit condition: An exit condition you set matched.
How to fix:
No fix is needed. We skip these emails on purpose.
The delay won't save
