Available on the Free plan
Your sign-up popup and email footer can show in every language your store sells in, not just your primary language. The sign-up popup's default copy, plus your footer's Unsubscribe and Powered by labels, will appear automatically in the shopper's language. Anything you write yourself still sends exactly as you typed it.
How it works
Sign-up popup
Note: Pop-up languages are rolling out gradually, so they may appear in your settings over the next few days.
When your store sells in 2 or more published languages, a Language card appears at the top of your popup's Content tab. Use its Language dropdown to choose which language you're writing wording for — your primary language is listed first, followed by your store's other published languages.
Leave a field blank for a language, and that field shows Judge.me's own wording in the shopper's language automatically. Type your own wording, and it sends exactly as written, only for that language.
If your store sells in a language Judge.me doesn't translate yet, the card tells you so: buttons and error messages fall back to your primary language (or English), while anything you type yourself still shows in that language.
If your existing wording was filed under the wrong language, or your store's primary language changes, Judge.me shows a one-time notice so you can move your wording to the right language.
Email footer
Your footer's Unsubscribe link text and Powered by Judge.me credit are translated automatically into every language your store sells in — there's nothing to set up. Your own footer text, like your business address, isn't translated; it sends exactly as you wrote it, in every language.
If your store sells in more than one language, go to Templates > Manage brand and styling > Footer. A note under your footer text shows which languages your emails are sent in.
How to set it up
Writing popup wording for a language
From your Judge.me Email admin, go to Popups.
Click Customize, and select the Content tab.
Open the Language dropdown at the top of the Language card, and select the language you want to write wording for.
Fill in the fields you want to write yourself, and leave the rest blank to use Judge.me's wording.
Click Translate from English to have AI translate your own written wording into the language you're currently editing, using your primary language's wording as the source. AI translation is available on the Awesome plan.
Click Save.
Checking your footer's language coverage
From your Judge.me Email admin, go to Templates, and click Manage brand and styling.
Go to Footer on the left-side menu.
If your store sells in 2 or more languages, a note under your footer text shows which languages your footer sends in.
Click Manage your store's languages in Shopify to add or remove storefront languages.
Considerations
Only Judge.me's own default wording and the footer's Unsubscribe and Powered by labels translate automatically. Your own written copy — in the popup or the footer's business address — sends exactly as you wrote it, in every language. See Language support in Judge.me Email for how to write your own copy in another language.
The popup's Language card only appears when your store sells in 2 or more published languages.
The footer's language note only appears when your store sells in 2 or more published languages too.
The shopper's storefront language decides which translation they see; it follows the language your store already serves them in.
Translate (AI) is an Awesome plan feature.
The sign-up popup's Language card is only available to selected stores right now; it hasn't rolled out to every store yet. The footer's automatic translation described above is already on for every store.
Troubleshoot
I don't see the Language card on my popup
I don't see the Language card on my popup
Issue:
There's no Language card on the popup's Content tab.
Why it happens:
Your store sells in only one published language, or the Language card is currently available to early-user stores only — it hasn't rolled out to every store yet.
How to fix:
Add another published language in Shopify (Settings > Languages), then check the Content tab again. If you already sell in 2 or more languages and still don't see it, your store isn't part of the early-user group yet — check back as this rolls out more widely.
