Integrating with Essential Loyalty to reward reviews with loyalty points or store credit

Give customers loyalty points or store credit in Essential Loyalty for the reviews they leave.

The Essential Loyalty integration lets Essential Loyalty give customers points or store credit for their reviews. It gives customers a reason to write a review.

How the Essential Loyalty integration works

Here's how a review earns points or store credit in Essential Loyalty:

  1. A customer leaves a review.

  2. Judge.me sends Essential Loyalty a webhook when a customer leaves a review.

  3. Essential Loyalty adds points or store credit if the review matches the earning rule you set up in Essential Loyalty, which covers how much each review earns. Essential Loyalty only rewards published reviews, and reviews left before you connected don't earn anything.

Considerations

Before you set up the Essential Loyalty integration, review the following considerations:

  • This integration is available on any Essential Loyalty plan. Store credit rewards are available on the Essential Loyalty Essential plan or higher.

  • This integration is developed and maintained by the Essential Apps team. For help with setup or any issues, contact Essential Apps support.

  • If you enable Judge.me coupons, a customer can get both the Judge.me coupon and points or store credit for the same review.

Set up the Essential Loyalty integration

Step 1: Connect Judge.me to Essential Loyalty

To connect Judge.me to Essential Loyalty:

  1. From your Shopify admin, open your Essential Loyalty app.

  2. From your Essential Loyalty app, go to Settings > Integrations, and click the Judge.me card.

  3. Click Connect with Judge.me.

  4. On the Judge.me Authorization required page, click Authorize.

Step 2: Create the review earning rule in Essential Loyalty

To create the review earning rule in Essential Loyalty:

  1. From your Essential Loyalty app, go to Program.

  2. In the Points (ways to earn) section of your tier, click Add.

  3. Select Leave a product review.

  4. Set the number of points or the amount of store credit for each review, and make sure the action is enabled.

Customers then see a Write a review action in their Loyalty account dashboard and other Essential Loyalty widgets on your storefront. The dashboard shows only if the Loyalty page is enabled for customer accounts.
