Welcome flow

The Welcome flow greets new subscribers and converts them with a discount, using a three-email sequence.

Available on the Free plan

The Welcome email flow greets new subscribers and encourages a first purchase. It's one of the highest-intent moments you have, so it's worth switching on early.

How it works

Trigger: On new subscriber — a customer subscribes to marketing emails. It sends once per customer. The flow is a three-email sequence, sent with these default delays (all editable):

  1. Email 1 — Welcome: sends immediately, with your welcome message and a discount block ready to turn on.

  2. Email 2 — Brand story: sends about 3 days later.

  3. Email 3 — Product showcase: sends about 4 days after Email 2 (around day 7), with another discount block ready to turn on. Discounts in these emails are off by default. They switch on automatically once your sign-up popup has a discount, or you can turn one on directly.

Considerations

  • The trigger fires off marketing consent generally — not specifically Judge.me's own popup. A subscriber from any signup source (checkout, another app, imported) can trigger it.

  • All three emails go live the moment you activate the flow, since they're ready to send by default. If you've edited one so it's missing something — like a subject line — it stays a draft until you finish it.

Turn on the Welcome flow

  1. From your Judge.me Emails admin, go to Flows.

  2. Click Welcome email.

  3. Click Activate flow.

  4. Confirm by clicking Activate flow to set all template in the flow as live.

Discount from your sign-up popup

If your sign-up popup offers a discount, a fresh Discount block on Email 1 (and Email 3, if you turn its discount block on) auto-links to it — you'll see a "Synced from your sign-up popup" hint on the block.

Picking a different code yourself immediately unlinks that block from the popup, protecting your choice — it won't get overwritten later, and it stops following future changes you make to the popup's discount. To relink it, use the Use your popup's discount button that appears on an empty block, or re-select the popup's code manually.

See Adding discounts to popups, campaigns, and flows for how discounts work across the whole app, and the sign-up popup guide for setting the popup's discount.

Filters

You can narrow who actually receives the Welcome flow, beyond just "someone subscribed." Each Welcome email can carry entry filters (conditions someone must meet to enter the flow) and exit conditions (rules that pull them back out partway through) — both use the same set of fields for this flow.

Available fields:

  • Order count — is / is greater than (or equal to) / is less than (or equal to). Works correctly for new subscribers with no orders yet — "Order count is 0" targets people who signed up but haven't purchased.

  • Customer tags — is in / is not in.

  • Lifetime spend — is / is greater than (or equal to) / is less than (or equal to) / is between.

  • Signup source — is / is not (Popup, Checkout, Imported, API, Manual, Back in stock).

  • Location — is any of / is not. Only contacts with a saved address can match — usually checkout sign-ups. Popup and form sign-ups have no address on file, so they won't match either way.

You can combine up to 25 conditions across up to 10 groups (one level of AND/OR nesting).
