Judge.me Email: Sending rules for smart sending and double opt-in

Control how often customers hear from you and how popup sign-ups confirm.

Available on the Free plan

Sending rules control how often you email customers and how new popup sign-ups confirm.

You'll find them in Settings > Sending rules.

Smart Sending

Smart Sending stops you over-emailing the same person. When it's on, a campaign email is skipped if the customer already received a marketing email within your set window.

  1. From your Judge.me Email admin, go to Settings > Sending rules.

  2. Turn on Smart Sending.

  3. Set the Smart Sending window — the minimum hours between marketing emails (1 to 72).

Emails caught by this rule are skipped, not delayed. Flow emails always send, but marketing flow emails count as a recent email for campaigns.

You can also turn Smart sending on or off for a single campaign when you send it. That choice overrides this setting.

Double opt-in

With Double opt-in on, new popup sign-ups get a confirmation email and are only subscribed once they confirm. This keeps your list clean, at the cost of an extra step for subscribers.

Shopify has its own double opt-in setting that Judge.me Email can't read. Keep both settings in sync so all your sign-up forms behave the same way.
